Well, coming from a small town that only wants you to stay here i can only find scholarships that require me to be a nurse or a mechanic. I'm trying to find a bunch of small scholarships for me to use along with a performing arts Scholarships. I finally found something I am good at, but at the wrong time. It was my second year of theater and I had won Best Actor award along with the Samuel French award. I went from being a background character to a main character in a year so i think i found my niche. The only problem is at this time all the scholarships are taken and I got caught with my pants down. Schools are already full up and I think if I wait a year I might be shoved back. I really enjoy the art of acting. Portraying another character is so much fun, also telling the story behind it all so that the it carries with the audience. I like having the ability to use my full body to re-enact something other then just do it vocally.

I think the best thing I can do is to build up my resume and just go attack every acting thing i can find. I think our local junior college offers some acting classes I may take to sort of get the hang of it. I might also just go and audition for shits and giggles at the theaters around Dallas to get my name out there.

Any Thespians out there that can knows and tricks of the trade?

Being awarded a fine arts scholarship is pretty easy. Write a few poems and almost any college will give you some money.

That's... Not exactly what i was aiming for...

Are there any places or sites that are reliable for scholarships? I think my application to Texas UIL went through.

Whatever you'll find will be for piecemeal scholarships at $500 or $1000. You're better off spending some $ to test prep to get very good SAT scores and then get merit scholarships directly from schools, assuming your family isn't sufficiently low-income to get need-based scholarships from schools. What's your family income?

We make about 130k a year. Both parents work in factories so I don't see much of them.

I know I already make too much money and when a college sees that, they will throw out my paper for financial aid. Damn.

    Time to start studying.

I'm going to have to end up going to a local junior college for a year in order to keep my insurance and practicing Theater and fine arts.
