[Blur] Controller Warning

Just a heads up to anyone interested in playing the new racing game Blur: on both the Xbox and PC only the Xbox 360 controller (and keyboard on PC) are supported. The MS racing wheel for the Xbox is not supported (it will technically work, but w/o any way to adjust the deadzone or any other settings its virtually unplayable). On the PC, no racing wheel or any controller other than the xbox 360 controller will work and buttons cannot be remapped in game. You can emulate non-wheel controllers using a third party program, however ofc if you try this with a wheel you'll get terrible results.

Recap: you cannot use a racing wheel to play blur, and on the PC if you want to use any non-wheel controller other than the xbox 360 controller or keyboard you'll need a third party emulator.

I imagine its not a huge segment of the population that has a racing wheel, but for those of us who do this is a major dissapointment, and frankly quite surprising, as I've played $10 value bin PC games made by 5th party indie 2 man non-english speaking dev teams with far better controller support than Blur.

For those PC gamers with a wheel, if you are looking for some racing with destruction and haven't tried the series before I strongly recommend Flatout: Ultimate Carnage (its Flatout 2 with better graphics and a few additions but *warning* its GFWL). You can pick it up for $20 on steam or $10 at gamestop/etc. and it has fantastic wheel support.

Does that other new racing game Split/Second have better controller support?

Well, I'm not sure about the console versions, but on the PC it is better in the sense that you can at least remap buttons, thus supporting more non-wheel controllers without third party emu programs.

However, for PC users looking for a game to play with a racing wheel Split/Second is really no better than Blur, as it has no adjustment settings, making it virtually unplayable. I would strongly advise against both games for any PC user with a racing wheel looking for a fun game and instead again recommend Flatout Ultimate Carnage (arcade/fun/destruction), Dirt 2 (semi-sim feel/fun), or the venerable Grid (semi-sim/tons of content).

And no need to thank me for turning on the douchebag translator there Cantido, its what I do.
