I've been out of work for a while now, and while I'd prefer a salaried job, I'm looking into doing some online freelancing while the economy unshits itself. Does anyone here have any experience with this kind of work? If so, any pointers or caveats you'd care to share?
Specifically, I'm considering registering with either elance.com or odesk.com (or both), though I'd of course consider others if they come with recommendations.
Have a contract ready, and have a very comprehensive brochure / listing of a) what you offer, b) how much each type of those things you offer might cost; and of course, have a great portfolio of examples ready.
