I love the point we're at in game production of 3d art now. It's all about sculpting and the rest like topology and stuff is just technical details that are getting made a smaller and smaller task. Some stuff I've worked on they don't even texture flat uvs its all just polypaint directly into the 3d surface. Really feels like we're almost at the point where it's purely artistic and you don't have to have all these technical middle men getting in the way.

There's also some great models of faces/heads that comes with Zbrush by default.
If you go to Load Tools, you'll find in the Zbrush directory DemoHead and DemoSuperAverageMan.
If you want to focus on just doing portraits, DemoHead is quite good. I can also give you some of my own model heads I made in 3D that would also be a great base mesh for sculpting details on top of.
