okay so i went back looking for 3 pages for a job thread and didn't see one so i made one and it's approved and all but
BUT
my real reason is
this:
JOB PURPOSE

- Provide support to the Finance Reinsurance Division for day to day operations of their system.
-Liaise with users and developers to clarify system change requirements and ensure that changes made reflect user requirements.

Liaise with programmers and users for user acceptance sign off to ensure that system changes are made on a timely basis in accordance with user specifications and existing change management procedures. This includes collection and preparation of specifications and requirements documentation.
So I've been considering moving departments in my company because it's better than where I am now (not being challenged, really) - but I'm no coder. I have no doubt that I could LEARN to code - and, my position right now, I got under the same circumstances - them wanting someone with 2 - 4 years experience and a technical certificate for AutoCAD.
So ... what IS this job exactly? Anyone know? hah.
And, remember to list your Area, Skills and desired title/job industry so that JoeUser & Nogs can hook you up when they have the time.
Area - Los Angeles
Skills - Export compliance, customs filing, AES, export declarations, routing, booking, rate negotiation
Title/Industry - Logistics / Supply Chains: Export Agent, especially Air, though I have really wanted to go to work for an individual company to work on their export needs, as opposed to working for a freight forwarder like I've been doing.
And Mully, I can't tell what the hell that job is. Good luck with it though. Maybe ask someone in the company who can 'splain it to you?
Well, yeah, but I was hoping someone here could give me some idea what kind of coding it might be, since it doesn't state the language or anything. Blarrr!
I want to be either a translator or a musician
I have better chances of being a musician than I do a translator
Right now I am a bookmonger at Borders and I am starting to hate it again

A lot of HR people don't the difference between markup and coding, so it could be something as simple as making some HTML webpages.

Had a job interview, but the job went to a friend of mine. So I'm still in the land of bizarre unemployment checks. It sucks to still be looking for work when all of this new blood is graduating.

bunch of songs
I can't remember, the first track is roy orbison, I know that
I saw it by its lonesome where all my CDs used to be and I thought
almost hoped
that it was a CD of them talking about their crime and laughing at me for 80 minutes and 16 tracks
I mean that'd be such a crazy burn I'd never recover from it

Dunno if I've done this before, but I'll throw my current job out there-
The real title is Software Distribution Technical Lead.
Once upon a time I was an SMS (System Management Server) Administrator, but Microsoft went ahead and changed the name of the product to System Center Configuration Manager, but didn't really adopt SCCM, but rather went for ConfigMgr. At the end of the day, the product I use to pull information from machines and distribute software installs, config changes, etc. is essentially SMS v4.
I'm a contractor for a government agency whose HQ is in the town I grew up in. I'm responsible for application installation and OS/application patching on a wide-scale both at HQ and at field sites around the continental US. ConfigMgr also allows us to pull software/hardware/vague usage info and whatnot from our client machines and make available in the form of queries and reports.
In order to push software we use Wise Package Studio to wrap up installs/patches to make them quiet so people don't know stuff is getting thrown down their machines.
Big fun.
Downside- if you're capable of doing things to machines and your SOP is to make it so the average person doesn't know what is going to their machine, tier 1 support has a way of assigning blame for anomalous system behavior to those groups who could possibly have done a thing without anyone knowing. Because computers never ever just break.
Honestly I'm thinking about heading back to school to find something in a different field outside of IT Support. I've been at this for almost 10 years and am totally ready to switch things up... provided it doesn't cause my family to become destitute.
People! Of this place, I will draw you things of value. That are good and pretty, and in return you will give me many much moneys. Do it now, don't be stupid!
Is, is that how this thread works?
I think I need to work on my pitch.

I hate writing cover letters. I have trouble talking up myself like that. It seems like a good job market here in Seattle. I just need to take the time to apply all over for a good job.
Home Depot is sucking my life away. Last week and this week I'll be working 6 days on and then 2 off. It's bullshit for part-time 10.55/hour. I need money, but I really need a better job and the energy and time to spend on my job hunt.
I'd love to be able to do some web design work/corporate design once I graduate. At this point however my main abilities lie in using illustrator and photoshopz.
btw i'll be calling you again next new years. count on it
thank god that literally made my new year's
i don't know if i told you, but i actually took time out of an evening with a lovely young lady to go down to my car and make that call (because good god if i was gonna do that in front of her)
Living in Michigan is shit. I am thinking about going over to craigslist and posting that I'll give up a weeks pay to whoever can find me a steady job somewhere.
so i'm supposed to be working at this late night/breakfast place as a line cook. except i have like 40 hours built up just getting the place ready to open but we're still waiting on the board of health and I can't get paid or start working until then and auuuuugh
and until all this happens I can't move into my new apartment blaaahhhh
until I move into my apartment I can't pick back up some art projects I was doing because no access to a print lab aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh

Dear satan I wish for this or maybe some of this....oh and I'm a medium or a large.
A shopping spree, because you're making so much money?
..................I'm gonna say yes just to keep the feds off me
Dear satan I wish for this or maybe some of this....oh and I'm a medium or a large.
got my car back from the shop the other day
assholes stole all my CDs
except one
Dear satan I wish for this or maybe some of this....oh and I'm a medium or a large.
and while it's not a gigantic monetary loss
the audacity of it is astounding

the problem is that they can just go "uh no we didn't" and that's that. I can't really file a police report for like 10 dollarsn worth of burned CDs
I'll be talking to the owner for sure though, it's rather disappointing if that's what happened
