I am selling an old iMac running 10.3. How do I erase all the data on the hard drive and get it back to factory settings? Thanks!

Boot from an install disk. Disk Utility -> Erase, check Security Options. Wipe the hard drive, then reinstall.

Thank you, sir. None of the Web sites I looked at mentioned that you needed to go to Disk Utility from the install disk.
Is "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" the one I want to erase?

Looks like it'll automatically reformat after erasing, so yeah, that's the file system you want.
