Getting video to play on an Android phone?

Specifically, the HTC Evo 4G.

What format does it accept? I put an AVI file into one of the folders on the 8gb SD card, but when I disconnected it there was no video to be found on the device. Pictures and music work just fine.

    Looking around there's a lot of HTC Evo forums/etc. I'd probably check there - I don't get my phone till later this week so I'm no help. :(

    You need to download a video player from the Android Market. It'll play 3gp and mp4 videos with h.263, h.264, and mp4 video encoding. I don't think anything else will play even with a video player installed.
