FFT remake, FF7 CC and now FF2 remake(well, more like an enhanced port. not a complete remake like FF3 for DS)

will this be a year for me to buy PSP finally? i've been holding out for them to release a better version with brighter LCD just like DS Lite's huge difference.

will square stop the old 1~6 remakes one day? where is ff7 remake already darn it! :P

    Oulde.
Brighter screen? The PSP doesn't need an SP.

    So, now I decide...

I own FFIII for the DS and FFIV for the GBA. I plan on picking up FFV eventually as well as FFVI.

I haven't picked up FFI&II for the GBA. Should I get it for the GBA or just the PSP? Having half of the FF series on one handheld is hot.

Seems to me theres no reason to have the map screen sprites suck so much ass, when compared to the battle screen sprites. On the SNES it was acceptable, but this is the psp, get with the times.

I'd advise GBA, if you can find it and don't mind crappier graphics. It'll be dirt cheap now, and it has both games. The PSP remakes apparently are two separate, full price games.

Isn't that the same exact game as the GBA version? Maybe with slight upgrades?

You know, I love Final Fantasy, buy every game in the series, etc. But enough already, when is Chrono Trigger going to be re-released?

It looks like they bumped up the quality of the sprites, that's some nice 2D there.

I imagine the different map sprites are part of the "retro" look.

I wonder if GBA could even handle it, what with Squares horrible playstation port, and the slowdown on the American Final Fantasy IV. Seems like Square kinda sucks at porting games.

On the other hand, the FFV port is pretty good.

Or they could pull an FF3 with Chrono Trigger and release it on the DS.
The DS userbase is so wide that it probably wouldn't affect the numbers to release said Chrono Trigger on said DS in stead of said GBA.

Oh wait, I didn't say GBA.

If they had done this in the spirit of the FFIII DS port, it probably would have been pretty cool. As it stands... quick and dirty port. :|

Get it for GBA...Both in one cart, and as another poster said, it is DIRT cheap...I got mine for 9.99 at Circuit City. That's like...5 bucks per 30 hours of gameplay...

I think the graphics look kinda cool, very crisp and clean, not muddy and pixellated...

    I may get this.

    Or maybe not.

Tis up to the gods to decide...

(In other words, SOE to decide if they will ever release it in the UK)

Do people even know what SOE stands for? Just the other day, there was a guy talking about going to SOE HQ to complain about the PS3! Around the developer/publisher circle, SOE stands for Sony Online Entertainment, you know, the guys that make Everquest and stuff. Funnily enough, they don't have a European office and the only thing they do with the PS3 is provide software for it.

I think you wanted Square Enix Europe.

Also, on the PSP the monsters shouldn't be still sprites, they could EASILY make them moving sprites. Sure it would cost more money, but it would also be infinitely better.
