a storm very like this one is raging a little to the east, heading to Nebraska to fuck their flat little world
up.
this is one of those moments where nature really makes you feel small and humble. the amount of power in this storm, if given physical form, would be like six grizzly bears taped together around
Mariusz Pudzianowki.
Who is also Kryptonian.
Seriously, though, this storm is just one of the many things about nature I love. Purple mountains, fields of grain, all that bullshit.
here's my niece and i ogling at nature's beauty! i'm the one in the tie-dye.
here i am being nonchalant next to a giant redwood! i'm the one in the jeans.
this is up by Icehouse resevoir, near Sacramento. we used to go hunting here.
what are some of your favorite parts of nature, SE++? favorite areas?

Nature is still an asshole though
getting cold when you want to go outside, rains on you when you go biking
lightninging you when you just want to go for a walk
Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.
Also I like fly-fishing and someday I intend to get good.

It's nice out and the temp is great
but I have to spend half my day learning the last few droplets of random information
3 goddamn days left
I guess a town near by did see a funnel cloud though. We do get tornadoes and such but its like 1 or 2 a year.

However Indian Canyon and St. Jacinto are only a short drive away.
Indian Canyon up ins.
the absolute tomb-like silence after a big snow storm, when nothing and no one has walked on the snow yet and the world is just a big blank sheet of paper and it's so cold that it almost hurts to breath in.
It's cool to watch on TV or whatever but if I am anywhere near inclement weather I get pretty goddamn nervous
It does not help that I have had a couple close calls with that sort of thing in my life
But it is still pretty neat, from a sciencey perspective!

Do you enjoy the snow in late may early june?
Or the constant rain that turns the ground into a mush
old, but still awesome

CHEYENNE REPRESENT
Cheyenne sucks
THe Wind blows so often you don't notice
Also if you find my brother tell him Hi
i like the wind! it keeps things fresh.
also i probably don't know your brother but MAYBE I DO :O
I liked what I saw when I drove through there 10 years or so ago.
Well you do have a 1 in 50k chance but then they still claim that many live there and have not fled
Tourist
What spring does with the cherry trees.
Untouched wilderness bigger than many states. Take that east cost.
In all seriousness, I live in the pretty part of Oklahoma (NE corner) and have always loved being outside. My friends and I used to go out every Sunday and find a new park or nature reserve to go explore. I'm moving to Los Angeles in September, so I'm trying to get as much nature in as possible before moving out there. I'll see if I can't find some pictures off my old laptop to post up soon.
edit: found a few pics. Most of these are kind of old, but good pictures nonetheless. nsf56k incoming.
This is on a bluff overlooking the Illinois River. Wish I had a better picture of the background.
We had a pretty wicked ice storm a couple years ago, devastated pretty much all the trees in the area.
Also made local sculptures even more awesome.
Cheyenne Frontier Days is one of the oldest rodeos in the world, and also the largest outdoor rodeo! The only rodeos that are larger both take place in enclosed arenas! Experience a true slice of western culture!
Take in the sights and sounds of Cheyenne, including our historic downtown district, our Western art museum, and the Old West Museum, telling the story of our country's wild past!
Enjoy wild west shows and the Old Fashioned Melodrama, starring yours truly as Bert Dastard, the villainous delinquent!
CHEYENNE FRONTIER DAYS: THE DADDY OF 'EM ALL
And the downtown is tame compared to when I lived there.
The last full week of July
