roadrunner "extreme" 30mbps modem
linksys wrt-g router with DD-WRT v23 running a WDS
airport express connecting via WDS (xbox hooked up to express)
Recently I've noticed my network isn't super great. I'm supposed to be getting 32 kbps and when I connect to my wireless express bridge (which I usually do just for the signal strength) I get about 8. If I connect straight to the linksys router I can get about 15. These are both g devices, so what gives?
It seems the airport is one of my major contributors, but there aren't a whole lot of options on the way that device connects. Also when I plug straight into the modem I can get my 30kbps so it's not my connection with time warner.
If I remember correctly, devices that connect to a network using the Wireless Distribution system are halved on the other side. So your Airport shouldn't be pushing more than half the signal speed of the original signal.
