Well after taking forever to get the last part to build my Kill Team I am going have to pick random Chapters for each of them

I do find it funny it was a pain in the ass to get the apothecary stuff over all the others but then I did forget did the book say they have Chaplains?

I'm sure my friend will be glad to hear this news about orks!

Now, for a question of my own, finally going to put the models I have into an actual list. Vanilla space marine army, 1.5k points:

Space Marine Captain with Terminator armor 140pts
    Space Marine Librarian 100pts
Venerable Dreadnought with assault cannon 175pts
    5 man Terminator Squad 200pts
5 man Devastator Squad with 4 missile launchers 150pts
Command Squad with 4 meltaguns 155pts
    -Drop Pod 35pts
5 man scout squad with sniper rifles 75pts
10 man tactical squad with power fist, meltagun and missile launcher 200 pts
    -Rhino 35pts
10 man tactical squad with power fist, meltagun and missile launcher 200 pts
    -Rhino 35pts

    1500 pts

The captain goes with the terminators which will deep strike in and the librarian goes with the command squad. I plan to give the librarian the 5+ invulnerabe save and the teleport power. They'll drop in with the pod and wreck a vehicle. If the are other vehicles right around then I'll pop the invulnerable power or if not they will teleport to another vehicle and hopefully melt it.

The devastators got missile launchers because they are cheap and because it will hopefully mean they have something worth shooting at almost every turn of the game.

The tactical marines are super generalists, I imagine them taking pot shots for the first turn or two and then rushing to objectives in the rhinos. The scouts are just an extra scoring unit, mostly.

The venerable dreadnought is mostly because I like the unit concept. I'm not entirely sure what function it will play in the army, other than a damage sponge or a way to bog down large units that lack the means to deal with it.

    Thoughts?

That looks good to me. Can you add an AssCan to the terminator squad? I always love doing that. There's a lot of dakka in those storm bolters, and adding a cannon can make the squad pretty shooty.

In local news, the Grey Knights have another win, their second at the 2000 point level. Neither of my competitor for first have any wins yet, meaning I have a great shot at pulling into first. I also netted bonus points for having a battle mission, and will be after more from having written fluff.

On Thursday I will be adding 500 points for the penultimate level. I know I'm adding three more GKTs, but after that I'm down to more IG models. My three chimeras are going to be an important feature, and there will be loads more infantry. I'd like three special weapon squads with plasma, but I don't have enough models with the guns. Does anyone have any they'd be willing to part with?

2500 will be the last one I can participate in, as I am moving at the end of the month. My twin, Daniel, will be carrying on at 3000 if the store manager lets it go that long. They are worried people might drop out at that level, so they are thinking of cutting it off at the end of 2500.

Tldr: Inquisitor- add and Asscannon! Everyone else- Got any plasma?

So i have a question. How cheesy/neck beardy is it to have your list contain space marines from different chapters? With everyone ones reviews of Rynn's World I picked it up and now I keep thinking wow Crimson Fists are great and I was slowly accumulating bikes for a White Scars army anyway. So i thought perhaps i would mash the two together and was curious how this is viewed by the community in general. By community in general I of course refer to you fine ladies and fellows and not the howling halls of madness that other 40k boards are known to contain.

It's cool as far as I know...as long as you aren't trying to use different rules for all the different troop types from different codexes.

Crusade armies have been around for a while and feature squads from different chapters fighting together for whatever reason. There have been one or two White Dwarf articles about them since the late 90's iirc.

If you really buy into the idea it could be very cool, tie them together with bases and a common Crusade badge/honour.

Some chapters definitely have a history of working together, though it usually tends to be successor chapters working with their parent chapter or with other successors from their parent chapter. Such as the Black Templar and Crimson Fists fighting together in the Declates crusade, swapping chapter iconography with each other and even fighting in mixed squads.

Also a few chapters have been reduced in strength so much that need to work with other chapters.

Inqy, I think everyone else here did a better job talking about your lapdog list than I could. It looks pretty good covering all the basics you need. Though you might get shredded if a dedicated cc list gets to you but I find loyalist have a definate disadvantage unless they are Space Wolves or Blood Angels or one of the other chapter specific codexs.

Ted will take on alla y'all!

He put in another game winning performance last night, rampaging his way through a Chaos Dred (Which had rampaged forward 18" and charged my Zoanthropes), a Chaos Pred, a charging squad of Berserkers (Power fists? Pfft!) before blowing the last few Daemons off an objective with his Bio-Electric Pulse.

Sure he copped a Lascannon to the face and died next turn but it was still an impressive performance.

Chester pulled his weight as well, teaming up with some Genestealers to murder an intrenched squad of Chaos Marines before dying to a Lord plasma pistol.

Albert finally pulled his proverbial finger out and killed 5 Terminators once he hit combat.

I've been combing over the templars list to help a friend and i don't like how inflexible it is. I like it even less then the 3rd Edition Space Wolves dex that I was playing before the 5th Edition came out. They nickle and dime you points for everything, and once that land raider with their hammer unit breaks down they are undone. I'm not really impressed, but I can see how they manage with a little luck. Shame an update is a bazillion years away.

    Basic lists I'm thinking of:
HQ - Emperor's Champion with Accept Any Challenge
    Troop - Crusader Squad - Initiates with BP + CCW x 8, x 1 w/ Meltagun, x 1 w/ Powerfist , Frag Grenades, Rhino
    Troop - Crusader Squad - Initiates with BP + CCW x 8, x 1 w/ Meltagun, x 1 w/ Powerfist , Frag Grenades, Rhino
    Troop - Crusader Squad - Initiates with Bolters x 3, x 1 w/ Heavy Bolter, x 1 with plasma gun
Elite: Dreadnought - Lascannon, Missile Launcher, Venerable, Tank Hunter (only 165 points!)
Elite: Assault Terminators - x 5 w/ Lightning Claws, x 1 with Thunder Hammer \ Storm Shield, Furious Charge
    Heavy: Land Raider Crusader

    Alternate List:
HQ - Emperor's Champion with Accept Any Challenge
    Troop - Crusader Squad - Initiates with BP + CCW x 8, x 1 w/ Meltagun, x 1 w/ Powerfist , Frag Grenades, Rhino
    Troop - Crusader Squad - Initiates with BP + CCW x 8, x 1 w/ Meltagun, x 1 w/ Powerfist , Frag Grenades, Rhino
    Troop - Crusader Squad - Initiates with Bolters x 3, x 1 w/ Heavy Bolter, x 1 with plasma gun
Elite: Sword Brethren with all the fix'ns (power weapons, terminator honors, lightning claws, Furious Charge)
    Heavy: Land Raider
Fast: Land Speeder - Flamer + Melta
Fast: Land Speeder - Flamer + Melta

Both hit at 1500. I like the second list because it's less deathstar with the brethren and more flexible. Neither leave me happy with the model count.

edit: I blurb'd the second list a bit, there's some upgrades I didn't bother to right down, but they're there.

Okay, my birthday is coming up next week and I'm putting in a forgeworld order. It's either three drop sentinels or a vulture with four rocket pods. The sentinels are quite nice, but the vulture ... man, how cool is that? Four ordnance templates a turn plus a heavy bolter for the lolz. Well, either that or two ordnance templates and, like, a twin-linked lascannon or something. To be perfectly honest I'm not entirely sure how to arm this thing.
