I half feel like you are advertising their site.

And.... they are updating it. What the hell else could it be? I do have to say that it is a weird-ass time to do this, considering that there has been so much lead up to E3 news lately, but whatever.

    I'd expect it's because of E3 they're doing it.

When I have it open in a tab, it reads: The New Joystiq -- Coming Soon

Interesting, must be a pretty big overhaul. How exciting, it's one of my favorite sites.

I read Joystiq for the news. Period. Any shenanigans or original content they add can do nothing but piss me off.

That's true, those blog-type sites always think they're much more important than they are.

But if you don't listen to the Joystiq Podcast, you're missing out.

New site. Looks pretty nice. Gaming news still there, editorial content still ass. Still the same Joystiq.

Think I prefer the old layout. This one doesn't look to hot when I have two windows open side by side in Windows 7.

Also, their podcast ain't so hot.

Speaking as a guy who's only watched some friends in web development handle these kinds of things, I would think that a huge event like E3 would be the absolute worst time to also redesign an entire website and deal with the fallout, wouldn't it?

Eech. I liked their old cold-color blue scheme. Made them stand out against sites such as Kotaku and Destructoid (Or, hell, even Giantbomb, IGN, etc). Also, I second (Or third or fourth by this time) the whole read it for news but ditch the editorials. They tend to be pretty bad.

This. Very hard. Chances are it'll be something lame which causes the site to load slower.
