The game itself is pretty good - often overlooked among Xbox games. However, I believe that it does not offer a multiplayer component, so playing with a buddy isn't going to work (unless you play single-player campaigns together, switching out the controller).
It's a very original game, and I thought very enjoyable, but I don't think it has much replay value. Worth it for 10 bucks though, easy.
Yeah, this game is really good. It's not co-op, but the way it's set up could make it a good game for two people if they want to switch off every mission or something.

Your friend will get a chuckle over the bosses and Stranger's comments, though. Well worth watching.
Munch's odyssey is great too, even though it got bad reveiws.
I love the oddworld series and really really miss them. I think they would do well to make a movie, but probably only uber geeks like me would go see it.

Let's hope not, seeing as there's a movie planned.
Not based on Oddworld Oddworld, though, but Lanning's new franchise... Citizen Siege, I think it was called. Movie and game currently in planning/early stages.

Wait, movie AND game? I thought his experiences with Microsoft and EA completely embittered him to the industry?
This is a very good game, about the only problem had with it was that [spoiler:5cb5104de8]About half-way through you temporarily lose half of your ammo types, and I think your health upgrades and stuff as well.[/spoiler:5cb5104de8]

I don't remember that part. Which bit?
[spoiler:95b85ace1f]When you find out that you are really a Steef I remember losing some of my ammo types, and having others reduced to their most basic form. I'm not sure about the health thing, though, as I said; I seemed to be weaker, but I could have just imagined it[/spoiler:95b85ace1f]

Not according to the 360 website. Which sucks. Your avatar is a bastard by the way.
NOM! NOM! NOM! NOM!
Thats the sound i imagine it makes when its eating people.
I always thought there was a way to escape his vile clutches, I sent thousands of pixellated skiers to their masticated eath trying to do it, but I never could.
I actually felt the game was too weird, for my tastes anyway. I kept wishing they'd give me a slightly normal/effective weapon, that it was easier to switch between ammo types, and that they game wasn't so ugly (artistically, not technically). I thought switching between views to accomplish certain tasks was annoying and...I dunno. The whole thing felt like work to play, so I stopped a few hours in, since I just wasn't having fun.
However, everyone else on the planet loves it, and for 10 bucks it sure seems like it'd be worth a shot.
This is really a great game. Sometimes it can be difficult but you'll get a hang of it. Also it has some of the best cut-scenes I've seen in a game. Definitely a thumbs up.
man, if this was bc on the 360, id buy it again in a heartbeat. i loved it, always wanted to go through it again and try to get all the villains captured alive.
I made a thread about it when the announcement first came out. Citizen Siege is apparently - last I heard - an Oddworld property, but not with the same Abe/Much/stranger characters and such, and being developed as a game and a full-length CG movie at the same time. Since then I haven't heard a thing, not that I've gone looking or anything. He has returned to the industry, it seems. EA didn't scare him off for good. Assuming this continues to be the case, it's good to have the loudmouthed, arrogant fuckwit back :^: .

Also, if you ever see this at a Kmart, it's $3. I got it for $15, and it was still worth it.
Too bad I haven't played the others in the series, but if they make any half as cool as this, I'm there.
p.s. I got it at superstore in Calgary, canada
It's a shame too, because otherwise this game is utterly fantastic. It's like buck teeth on a supermodel.
