DC Solicits for September 2010

Looks like Guy will be able to free the beast within in regards to red lantern energy (though they hopefully aren't foolish enough to bring back his Vuldarian stuff).
Alvin Lee re-teams with Simone on Birds of Prey, that's cool.
Cameron Stewart back on B&R with #16, that's great to see.
This isn't though
TITANS #27
Written by ERIC WALLACE
Art and cover by FABRIZIO FIORENTINO
Deathstroke and Arsenal find they have something in common when they team up to halt a child slavery ring. They need to get past a foursome of super-powered foes protecting the ring first. But Osiris – the team’s reluctant powerhouse – is already out of the fight entirely! Good luck, guys…
On sale SEPTEMBER 15 • 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US
Is that a Milestone character? The one who hung out with the Superman guy?
Solicitation suggests it is a new character described as a "student." I don't think that stops it from being Rocket, but I kind of doubt it.

I see Bagley isn't on JLA #49, I wonder if this is because he's taking a break because of the JLA/JSA crossover or that rumor about him going back to Marvel was true.
It's cool they're doing more with the characters, but I don't recall the first two series having an exceptional reception. Also, Power Girl looks like it'll be heading downhill in a hurry with Winick at the helm. That may be a harsh judgment, but just going off the cover it already seems to be veering into serious business territory.
Peter Milligan writing Batman should be good, but the Tony Daniel art's going to keep me from buying it. And Teen Titans asks the question, "The quest has ended, but what damage has it dealt to the Teen Titans? Who is left standing and who is ready to walk away?" Upheavals in the roster and possible death? What daring territory for the title.
Batgirl on the other hand, looks like a ton of fun, as does Batman and Robin. Lobo on REBELS? Awesome. Booster Gold and Doom Patrol look interesting, through the Booster Gold description seems a little strange. A Ratchet and Clank comic? I'm there, at least for the first issue. And it's pretty cool that the JLA Deluxe Edition is collecting Morrison's Earth 2 OGN.
And in an unusual twist, I actually kind of want to buy the Ame-Comi Duela Dent statue. Steampunk Duela? That's pretty groovy.

Is that the last issue of Batman & Robin? It doesn't say "final issue", but it does say finale and it's the issue after Frazer Irving's arc

Red Robin #16
The new Anarky has his own version of Red Robin’s Hit List! Ulysses Armstrong has made a record of Gotham City teens who could be Red Robin – and he’s murdering them one by one. With an incapacitated Tim Drake crossed off his list, can Red Robin stop Anarky before the villain attacks his next target? And with the deaths of innocents weighing on his conscience, how far will Red Robin go to cross Anarky off his own Hit List?
I'm disappointed, Fabian. We've already had this story with Tim before.
Given how well it's selling, I think DC will keep it going even if Morrison decides to leave.
But I thought Morrison said he'd be doing more than the initially planned twelve issues. Maybe it's just the last Dick and Damian stories, and the next issue kicks off the adventures of Bat-Dad and Bat-Son.

At the same time, you'd think DC would learn that Morrison books not written by Morrison sell horribly (every concept out of the "Brave New World" relaunch was Morrison "inspired" and they all flopped, Great Ten flopped, all of the Final Crisis Aftermath titles flopped, the Authority Lost Years book sells terribly, etc).
Full ListingCameron Stewart back on B&R with #16, that's great to see.
I wish the colourist gave Bruce a black cape there.
Is Milligan only on Batman for a single issue or is he on for longer? Because I was under the impression that Morrison would be getting Batman once B&R is over. We already know Morrison is staying on with the franchise for at least a while longer.
Also, WHAT?:
X-FILES/30 DAYS OF NIGHT #3
Written by STEVE NILES & ADAM JONES
Art by TOM MANDRAKE
Cover by ANDREA SORRENTINO
The most terrifying crossover of the decade continues! The bodies are beginning to pile up in Mulder and Scully’s investigation, but might one source located on a small island in the Bering Sea hold the answers to this mystery? More important, will Mulder and Scully live long enough to meet this mystery man? Co-published with IDW.

I adore DC's deluxe hardcovers, so I will definitely be double-dipping for Batman and Robin Vol 2 and finally buying Great Darkness Saga after all of the nostalgia I've seen for it with Levitz''s return.
A new freedom fighters is cool, but the solicit is very vague. One shot? Limited? Ongoing? Even the cost isn't listed, but I do trust the creative team.
Batman and Robin 16 probably won't be the last, even of Morrison. There will at least be another 3-issue Frank Quietly arc.
Although, I primarily figured this just because the series needed a 3rd full-length hardcover volume. I just realized that it's quite possible that they could combine 13-16 with Morrison's Batman RIP epilogue and Batman 700 for a fine 3rd hardcover, and then he could return to Batman for his final year or so on the book (unless he has some more ideas).
I will be dropping REBELS in September and either trade waiting or cutting off entirely.
This solicit has me thinking I may read just the first issue of Emerald Warriors and trade waiting the rest. Really, this is pretty dull sounding, and the Guy-as-Red-Lantern plot was one I didn't really care for. And yeah, I realize I'm the only one that doesn't like Tomasi GL stuff that much.

Because Chuck Dixon and Scott McDaniel will bring back Nightwing and I know it will never happen but I can dream.
