The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
I never watched the X Files before but have always wanted to and now with the wonders of Netflix I have started watching season 1. I'm about 15 episodes into season 1 and definitely see what all the hype was about, I'm really liking this show. Yes it's a older show but I'm really enjoying it none the less.
How many old X Filers do we have here on PA, so you have any certain episodes that you really loved or just want to chat X Files.
Would have been a lot neater overall if they just stuck with the monster-of-the-week episodes
Mulder and Scully are great enough characters on their own that they could have carried the format, much like Hugh Laurie tends to do for House even though every episode is pretty much the same
The conspiracy episodes were excellent up until about season 5 when it really lost the plot, but the production values were so good by that point it didn't really matter.
The best times of this series were during the one shot monster-of-the week episodes. Don't have no care about the overreaching plot. It's kind of boring, to be honest.
I loved the X-files, it was "that" show I wasn't supposed to watch, but did anyway.
I had a really sheltered friend in school and she said she wouldn't watch it even if she was allowed, and I used to describe episodes to her, and it would freak her out and ruin her whole day and she'd lose sleep and shit.
The best one was the episode where for some reason people were getting the word "Sister" scratched onto their back by a paranormal force.
I should try to rewatch the earlier eps, because I can barely watch the later seasons without feeling like it's just really lame. I grew up loving the shit out of the show, though. Just don't know if it ages well.
I have been watching the x-files on netflix, got a bit a sidetracked by 24 though! Up to season four so far and the episode called "Home" is probably the freakiest D :
I never really cared much for X-Files when it still aired but now that I'm older I really really like it.
Ferrus on
I would like to pause for a moment, to talk about my penis.
My penis is like a toddler. A toddler—who is a perfectly normal size for his age—on a long road trip to what he thinks is Disney World. My penis is excited because he hasn’t been to Disney World in a long, long time, but remembers a time when he used to go every day. So now the penis toddler is constantly fidgeting, whining “Are we there yet? Are we there yet? How about now? Now? How about... now?”
And Disney World is nowhere in sight.
I also liked the standalone episodes better, especially some of the comedy ones like the cockroach one and the vampire one with Luke Wilson. The standalone horror episodes also tended to be scarier/creepier than anything a story arc episode could throw at you.
The story arc episodes also ran into the problem that it eventually becomes painfully obvious they are making it up as they go along and are introducing mysteries that they don't have the answers for.
Lastly, Agent Doggett was fine and could have done well if he was given more, but Agent Reyes was absolutely terrible.

I barely ever watched the X-Files, but I do remember that episode. The... I don't remember what he was exactly, sheriff or some kind of agent, walks into the house and immediately gets his head blown off by a shotgun trap. I still remember having a "Holy shit!" moment. I just got done watching The Simpsons, now some guy is getting his William S. Burroughs on.
I think the episode that creeped me out the most was Darkness Falls. Little green bugs that attack in the dark and suck the life out of you, and being stranded in a remote place. Gave me the willies.

I always liked the monster-of-the-week stories over the big series-long plot arc

Season 9 was hideous though.

Otherwise, I love the X Files. I'm working my way through it on netflix.
You could pay zero dollars and look it up on Wikipedia.
your = belonging to you
their = belonging to them
there = not here
they're = they are
Back then?
She looked kind of weird in the first episode. She actually got steadily hotter as the series went on.
That's what I meant
She looks damn good even now
When I saw the trailers for the new film a couple years back I was like "Wow"

And there's a part where they make it look as if a cockroach is crawling across your TV screen.
My mum freaked.
But War of the Coprophages was the best

Fluke Monster was bad.
But "Home" was the worst. The worst!

Jack Black! Lucy Lui! Shia LaBeouf!

Also, the mother. Good lord, the mother.

If they could do it without fucking it up royally (unlikely judging by the recent movie) I would love them to bring it back.
Like, a reboot.
But with the same actors.
...... Maybe I'll just re-watch them.
Gillian Anderson has been, and continues to be, my #1 celebrity crush.
Wow smile, wow voice, wow red hair, she has that tiny under bite sometimes when she talks, and have you heard her laugh?

Infectious is an inadequate description.
Okay, now that I've embarrassed myself I'll just show myself out.
Oh shit I remember that bit - was that from the one with the cigarettes?
Lone Gunmen forever.
My favorite episodes were the ones that had Jose Chung or whatever his name was.
Especially the one with the triangular UFO's and Alex Trebec.
