Google Reader is love. Suggest blogs for me to follow.
So I've been using Google Reader for a few months now for all my blog following needs. It's pretty fantastic. It makes skimming through sites like digg cake, and I can follow a bunch of my favorite political blogs from one place.
But friends, let me tell you, I want more.
So what are some interesting blogs you folks follow? Any recommendations? Any sites you feel everyone should be reading on a semi-regular basis?
My tastes are pretty broad here. So go nuts with the suggestions. Politics, science, dick jokes, cake recipes. Really, I'll probably be interested.
I actually get my news from RSS feeds, so you could try google reader for those. Yahoo! collects news in to themed RSS feeds you can follow, stuff like U.S news, world news, economic and so on. Links are collected here: http://news.yahoo.com/page/rss
That, and my own blog, which you can find in my sig has a feed
I'm a geography nerd, so I love Strange Maps. He posts anything that tickles his fancy and he gets recommendations from cartography/geography buffs from around the world. This results in lots of maps of places you've never been to, but also of maps of the place right around the corner.
I'm also a man and just like women love to read the Cosmopolitan and other lifestyle magazines, I like to read about the Art of Manliness. Often has practical tips about such subjects as backne, wood chopping and tying a tie. It tends to go overboard with old people advice (like the time they suggested you turn on a CD of Frank Sinatra instead of Talk radio when you drive your date to a date), but all in all I've picked up a few things from em and learned about some off-kilter hobbies.
(for those wondering, my Agony Aunt fix comes from reading H/A)
BoingBoing is a little of everything: science, tech, culture.
Politics? It's a broad world so I'll be minimalistic. My favorite liberal is Matt Yglesias at ThinkProgress. All the best libertarians write for Reason. My favorite conservative is Jim Manzi at the American Scene. For specialized info on economics, Tyler Cowen is the man: www.marginalrevolution.com
Dick jokes, I don't know, but the best sex writing is from Dan Savage.
I'm not much of a cook, so I don't know the cakeblogs.
A personal fave is Coilhouse, which is weird art and film, mostly.
I came across ScoutingNY the other day. Guy is a location scout for movies in NYC and posts nifty things he comes across, he's got a series where he compares locations now to how they were in movies such as Ghostbusters or just places that have been lost and ignored.
Kind of like urban exploration but he's got a valid reason for being there and usually finds out what we're actually looking at.

Science? Currently I follow Nuit Blanche and the Geomblog and Terence Tao.

Also, of course, read my blog! (in the sig.)
