I have a belkin wireless router. it was working fine untill my girlfriend messed it up. now i cant access it from the web browser. i dont know what to do.
Most routers have a 'reset' button, and you can use that to restore the router to the way it was when it was new.
Here's what I would try:
1) Find the manual, or a copy of the manual. If you don't have the original, visit the manufacturer's web site and use the model name/number (usually on a sticker on the bottom of the router) to download a replacement manual.
2) Within the manual, there should be a section describing how to reset the router to factory defaults. For example, the section may ask you to unplug the router's power, then use an unbent paperclip to press a recessed button and hold it in. While holding in the recessed button, plug the router's power back in, and then even after plugging in power keep the button held down for a few seconds. Don't follow these instructions though -- use the instructions in your manual.
3) Also within the manual, there should be a section describing how to connect to your router with a PC and configure the router. This section should have optional instructions which assume your router is unconfigured, so that should tell you how to contact the router. Follow these instructions to regain access to your router.
If important settings in the router were lost, you may need help figuring out what those settings were. Ask again and we can help with that.
