Sketchbook Comics

Hey everybody! It's been a while since last I posted. I've taken a lot of what everyone said into consideration and have decided that improving my actual drawing process and style is more important to my comics right now than production, so all summer long I've decided to post sketchbook comics once a day.

I've been doing it for a month now and it has helped me come a long way in my drawing style and consistency with the character looks and a ton of other stuff. I've posted a few of my favorites below. Thanks for helping me see where my weaknesses lay and the suggestions on getting better :)

    Pretty nice.

The first thing that stick out to me is that all these figures are extremely static. Get out of your comfort zone of drawing people standing around and get them doing things.

The second thing is that your over-rendering your cartoons by thickening your lines to death. I love the simple shapes you have going, but right now your lines lack confidence. One stoke of the pencil would be more suitable in my opinion. Line variation is great for finished work, but for more doodley stuff I think its better practice to just get flowy with your lines and not worry about getting too caught up in it.

Hey guys, I've been doing a lot more sketches for my website since I originally started this thread and thought I'd share one of my recent favorites with ya - The Creature from the Black Lagoon :)

The theme all last week on the site was B-Movie monsters, there are a few more monsters on the site if you interested in seeing the whole list :)
