iOS4 on a 2nd gen iPod touch

I leave for California in like 3 hours so I'm hoping to get this resolved prior to leaving

I just updated to iPod iOS4 on my 2nd generation iPod touch, and I know that iOS4 has the option to change not only your lock screen background but your actual wallpaper as well. Is this only available on the new iTouches/iPhones or something? Because I don't have to option to set anything other than my lockscreen, and I'm not sure if I'm just doing something wrong or if the update bummed out on me or not.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

It's not available on anything but new (late 2009) iPod Touches and iPhone 3GS or higher
