I got a second monitor today, an asus VW246H (1900x1200) to go along with my ASUS g50v laptop monitor (1366x768)
I am using dualview mode in my nvidia control panel. Unfortunately, the left side of my new monitor cuts off part of the screen. For example, if i have a firefox window split between the two monitors, there will be a portion that is not visible. I can't seem to fix this, as nvidia control panel help keeps giving me suggestions that i can't even find in the control panel menu. If anyone knows of a solution to this I'd appreciate it greatly
All I ever used was the standard windows options and never had a problem.
Ultramon (I think that's what it was) was what I used for some sweet multi monitor fluff.
Could you try those instead of rolling through driver options?
i dont know whether my computer has a standard windows monitors option; all i've ever done to set up dual monitors has been through the nvidia control panel. I guess as a last resort i could try this ultramon program, but i've just configured 2 routers to run tomato, and had a surprisingly difficult time doing it so i think i'll take a break from fiddling of that sort for a while.
I pretty much never maximize a window across both screens. I essentially just treat them as two separate desktops that I can move windows between. But as for software, I like DisplayFusion as I seem to remember it working a little better with Windows 7 than any other program.
My question too. If it's connected via VGA, force it to do an auto-adjust. There is usually a button or monitor menu item for this. Check the monitor's controls, not your computer.

I don't believe it - I'm on my THIRD PS3, and my FIRST XBOX360. What the heck?
auto adjust fixed it, thanks guys. the solution was in the booklet that came with the monitor as well, that's what i get for not reading it haha
and @ strebalicious: yeah i wasn't trying to do that, just using the example of splitting the images across both screens to explain how it was cutting things off.

Elaborating on what suggestions you got from NVidia control panel would also be nice.
