you know, whatever anyone says i think jack johnson is a wonderful musician. the album before this new one is my favourite. saturday morning with jack and a coffee and some frying breakfast is one of my favourite things in life, and if that makes me a bad person then fiddlesticks
I heard Jack Johnson on the radio. It's the kind of music that I don't mind hearing in the background while I'm being lifted from one floor to another.
I think I came to the chat forum to complain about something technical about the Penny Arcade website and then chat a bit. You see I can have my cake and eat it too.

you know, i would listen to all these cool jazz artists like miles davis and coltrane, but i like to listen to jazz on vinyl and those guys are soooo hard to find
so instead i end up listening to this really quite geeky jazz like herbie mann that i found for a few bucks at the op-shop
but i tell you what? i regret nothing

Those are some good choices.
Might I suggest some Thelonius Monk?
Also if you're willing to try some more recent stuff, I've been listening to a pretty amazing record by Pat Methany and Brad Mehldau
any time i realize the tv is on background mode and playing crap, i'll switch it over to the jazz channel and feel relaxed and happy
the bummer is they don't announce the performers a lot of the time so my jazz knowledge is still pretty cruddy. or maybe they do announce them, but because the tracks tend to go for thirty-seven minutes you never end up hearing them called

Jazz on vinyl is indeed the best
I am spoiled in that I inherited my grandparents' Nina Simone and Miles Davis vinyl colletions
So I can listen to them while I'm walking and then I can switch to the album when I am back home
all Simone and Davis all the time
this is what I've become
...although hey I am enjoying this music you posted, pipe

Also modern, and moving away from the style
but Medeski, Martin and Wood are about as fun and downright funky and modern instrumental jazz gets

Also I'm talking about blues and jazz because jezz mentioned blues in passing which makes it topical
all I am listening to these days is Nina Simone and Miles Davis
I have forgone all other music in favor of this and I find it to be a good decision
