I sold both of my camaros. I've also had a bunch of other muscle cars and other ones with big engines. None of them compare to the stuff my dad, his siblings and their mom have had in their lives. I'm perfectly happy with my audi and honda, though. Plus if burnouts are on my mind my truck is more than capable of that. I am eyeing my cousins '02 ws6 trans am, though. A friend is trying to sell me his newer gto too but I can build something that is more powerful and more my style for much less money.
The new Camaro leaves me fairly cold. The Mustang goes like mad and handles great and has a nice interior, and the Challenger looks great and is more of a cruiser. The Camaro falls in between and excels at nothing.

I saw this guy driving an old like 1960 mustang convertible the other day -- he was my age, the car was gorgeous
and it had what I am pretty sure was a kennedy election sticker on the bumper
The worst thing is people knowing you can work cars. They are either too cheap or too broke to take it to a shop. Always bothering me or giving me some sad sack shit in order to get me to work on their stuff. I wish they all hand accords like me. That thing has been a dream to work on.

I've driven a new mustang and challenger recently. I have to say that the mustang wins handsdown with me. I don't think the camaro is worth discussing. As much as it pains me to say.
I prefer the first-gen Cougar to the first-gen Mustang. They're mechanically identical but the Cougar has a nicer interior and better proportions. The scalloped rear fins are gorgeous and the rear end is damn cool:

That's the thing, the Challenger isn't really made to handle, it's a cruiser. So it does one thing well and the Mustang does another thing well, different ideologies.
The Camaro does nothing well, and it's less practical than the other two to boot.

WaM is right, the Challenger was the best remake.
I want to rebuild a muscle car, but it's not something I can start yet. Still, one day. I'm thinking an early 70's nova. Or maybe a V8 vega.
edit: yes, GM completely screwed up the reintroduction of the camaro. Which is a shame, because the f-body cars remain some of the best performance vehicles for cheap to this day.
