What would YOU do with a Blockbuster Gift Card?

Ok, so someone gave us a Blockbuster 25$ gift card as a wedding gift (it was in that popcorn pail thing). I actually really appreciated the gift because it came with loads of candy and the pail is reusable so :^: However, every Blockbuster near me has closed, and when we tried to use the card at the Blockbuster box in the corner store, it was declined. I've looked around the site, trying to figure out what I can buy there, but here's the kicker--we have Netflix, so I have no interest in buying movies. I thought about buying a game, but it doesn't look like they have anything I really want/don't already have. I would really like to spend this money, because I hate to see money go to waste and also because I feel like Blockbuster might be on the outs....I'd have to drive >40minutes to get to one, and I'm not really in the sticks or anything. Any ideas on how I should redeem this or can I somehow return it for cash?

You can try to sell it to someone you know who likes Blockbuster for it's value or to someone you don't know for a bit less than it's value.

I believe there is a site for people to trade gift cards, but can't remember what it is.

Do you have any birthdays coming up for people you know that you need a gift for?

Pretty sure you could use the gift card at blockbuster.com.
Don't know what I'd use it on in your position, but I don't think I'd hold onto it for long. Between netflix and the Blockbuster boxes, I can't see the actual human-run stores being around for much longer.

You could always travel back to 1999. Seriously, who gives out Blockbuster gift cards anymore?

I say regift it if you can't find any use for it yourself (which you said you were unable to). I'm sure there are still people out there who rent from Blockbuster

    http://www.cardpool.com

They'll give you $18.75 cash or $19.69 on an Amazon.com giftcard.

You could also find a Blockbuster and buy more candy. It's often more expensive than it would be at a grocery store, but if that's what you like then $25 of it is nothing to sneeze at.

This was my original idea, but I can't help but think that 25$ on candy that's a quarter of that at the grocery store is excessive. If I can't trade the card though, this is probably what I'll do.

Card trade in sounds neat, since I'll take just about anything else (except an Applebee's gift card...the one in our town is not good.)

Blockbuster.com sells games as 'new'. That's what I'd probably use it for, grab some random game you wouldn't otherwise buy if they carry it.

If you can find an actual blockbuster store, they actually have pretty good used game prices, for whatever small random selection they have available
