Looking for an itunes plugin, does this exist?

When I'm playing music on my PC with winamp, I have a plug-in that allows me to fine-tune the pitch of the song. This is extremely useful for playing along with songs that, say, are recorded at A=444hz or whatever, so that I don't have to retune my guitar when I want to go and play that ONE song.

Unfortunately, most of the time I'm using my mac to learn tunes, and I've got all my playlists set up neatly on itunes. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a plugin for itunes that will allow me to pitch-shift a song.

iTunes won't, but since you're on a mac, do you have Garageband? I believe it has a fine tuner and a pitch shift

I do, and I have another program that does the job far more efficiently than Garageband, but I'm hoping to find a solution within itunes so that if I'm running through a 40-70 song setlist I don't have to open up a separate program for a couple of bad apples.

Hmm, yeah, it really looks like there's no such thing for itunes.

Nice find though. I may have to check that program out. Thanks!

It just struck my that this is a really good idea. The only song I could think of is some radiohead stuff (might be remembering it wrong) and don't look back in anger by oasis. I usually end up just tuning my guitar. It's a fair hassle though.

I'm pretty sure all of these are in whack tunings:

    Almost anything by Bob Marley
The Way You Make Me Feel - Michael Jackson
Beat It - Michael Jackson (should be played in Eb, but it gets played either in E or in drop D)
Give It To Me Baby - Rick James
Heartbreaker - Pat Benatar (it's in F, but should really be played in E!)
    Faith - George Michael
Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap - AC/DC
Rock and Roll All Night - Kiss
Superstition - Stevie Wonder (again, it's in Eb, but no one plays it in Eb unless there's horns in the band)

and that's just what I can remember by scanning my playlists.

And yeah, retuning the guitar is a huge hassle, especially if you have a floating bridge like I do, and you're intent on spending as little time on learning cover tunes as possible.
