We're almost at the 12 player limit last I checked, woo.
In non-PA-game news, my current free game is about to get totally fucked. We took out the strong player, and my ally of choice expanded a lot. His other sub-ally expanded some too. Meanwhile, the third 'super power' didn't expand for shit and I don't feel like making a stand with him.
Alright, that's everyone! We're currently at 11/12 players, which means there's one slot left if someone wants to sign up still. Please use your forum name as your alias if you do so!
If someone signs up, the game auto-starts. If it hasn't auto-started by 12 EST / 9 PST, I'll force-start it. If I force-start it now, it puts our PST players at a "payday at 6AM" disadvantage, which is slight, but there.
I'll sign up I guess. It took me a little while to get the bad taste out of my mouth from my last game, where a pair of roommates went into the game and dominated me and another random guy because everyone else never logged in after game start.
Edit: Maybe the game has started? I can't find it.

Darkewolfe - player 1 - white
A once peaceful race of frogmen takes to the stars after having unleashed everyone's greatest fears upon themselves; zombies. The entire race lost to zombification, they now seek interstellar brains to pick at and assimilate. And subsequently dine on. Mostly the dining part though.
burbl - player 2 - brown
An insidious race of birdmen consumed by the allure of technology. As punishment, their god clipped their wings off (possibly the end of their dicks too), leaving behind mangled stubs to remind them of their shame. Instead of reflecting on this, they take to the stars to take their anger out on other species.
Elvenshae - player 3 - magenta
An alien race which has remained secluded, hiding in shame from the galaxy. Having conquered their home planet with fabulousness™ they have kept to themselves, up until everyone started pointing and laughing. They now take to the stars, to spread their agenda. You know what I'm talking about.
Joemunkeh - player 4 - green
This seemingly timid species has gained renown throughout the galaxy for their two-faced nature. Cute and cuddly on the outside, they use their numbers to overwhelm potential hosts, injecting unborn young via an ant-eater-like tongue into any orifice possible. Their hive-minded race has decided to subjugate the galaxy at large.
Theotherhorseman - player 5 - lime
These tusked squid-like creatures may not seem it, but they have long ago achieved sentient awareness and technology to spread their race among the stars. Unfortunately, by human standards they never grow up beyond college fratboy mentality, requiring a pure or synthesized form of their home planet's life-giving fluid, which is akin to a cloudy absinthe.
Stopgap - player 6 - dark red
Something of an evolutionary offshoot of dinosaurs, this species sees all and knows all - but it has no hands. As such, it has utilized powerful psionic mind control to subjugate other species into doing manual labor for them. Due to their sluggish movement and toxic byproduct of exhaling, they are often mistaken for burning trees from a distance.
Lux - player 7 - purple
A hideous amphibious race, but gentle as a baby seal. Due to their ugly facades, their civilization has long since abandoned any sort of technology or objects that allow them to look upon themselves (as in, mirrors). Having to look at each other is reminder enough. I mean seriously what the fuck.
Mifio - player 8 - orange
A curious species, eager to to explore the stars. Their bristly, bathroom-cleaner heads gave them an evolutionary advantage over their native enemies, mildew and soapscum. Knowing any other species that admires cleanliness could be in danger from these unsightly things, they take to the stars on a crusade.
Henroid - player 9 - blue
Turtlemen from space. Or, near turtlemen. This sentient species evolved to have many of the same qualities as turtles, including breathing from their own anuses. Sadly, this did not include genuine shells, martial arts skills, or a craving for pizza. Wearing artificially made shells, they take to the stars to prove something to the galaxy. But nobody cares.
Reasonable Hobo - player 10 - cyan
A classically depicted alien species for eons, they have the edge technology wise. Unfortunately they're more timid than the rat people of munkeh so they never put their destructive power (or shared wisdom) to use, preferring to just observe. Probably galactic pushovers.
Lord Gravewish - player 11 - yellow
This hive-mind species of bug people long ago dominated a species of peacock people from their native world, resulting in what you see before you. Gaining sentience, they mindlessly seek to expand on the stars. Other species dominated include the crab people and toadmen (not to be confused with the zombie frogmen).
Imperfect - player 12 - red
Having once shared a world with the tusked squidpeople, these exiled octopus like creatures plan for revenge. Don't expect too much from it, since these too require the life-giving absinthe of their native world. They have evolved to absorb more finer liquids, resulting in personalities much like the sleazy, useless sexuality of middle-aged men.
So yeah, the hive-mind bug-people have had the bad luck of starting their game smack in the middle of the universe, surrounded by pretty much every other player in the game. Somehow, I believe this will be a quick game for me :P
So yeah, good luck everyone!
Also, I'm going to be keeping a small diary of what I do in-game, including a minimap screenshot every day (if I remember to take them). Once the game's over it'll be awesome to talk about it
I finished fourth. Green betrayed me while I was fighting light blue, and started gaining terrain (2 vs 1). Yellow took too long to start attacking light blue and once he did I had already lost half of my ~1000 ships. (Green had ~1000 and Light Blue had ~600)

My family hails from the Azores. My brothers, cousins, and I are all first generation born in America. Go us, I guess. But yeah I haven't come across many Portuguese people here on the forum and it's unfortunate.
In my non-PA game all the inactive players are in the outskirts, while all the active players are around me.
I keep getting messages to ally with them and I'll get some planets in return.
Also when you trade tech am I suppose to get some sort of confirmation notice that it went through? I'm not sure I did it right but since I lost 25$ I guess it worked. Also since you gave someone a level, does the previous build up continue towards the new progress bar or does it start at zero?
In my free game, I had sent a message to someone like... Two days ago. I gave up all hope on him replying, let alone allying me. He is one of the superpowers. But today when I log in, he had messaged me, saying yes, and he will tech trade, and work on crushing the other superpower who is sandwiched in between us.
Blurbl, you know you can add multiple waypoints to carriers, right? They should never not be moving, just because you couldn't find time to log in.
And when you trade tech, you get an event about it shortly afterwards, just be patient. I'm pretty sure if you trade someone weapons while they're halfway-done researching weapons already, it just wipes out their progress and sets them to weapons + 1 with no research points accumulated.

Yeah, dunno how I missed that first time though.
Is anyone else documenting this? Just making a screenshot and bullet points for each day, intending to write it up when we're done.

At about 6pm Central Time each day I'll be taking notes of what's happened over the last 24 hours in the game. Today I was able to do my first notes. Specifically Mifio and Lux buddy-copping it up together.
I'm already not pleased with a couple things in this game but I'm holding my peace until after the fact. We'll address it next game.
Edit - If someone can take a screenshot of the full game field, zoomed out to see everything, at about the same time I'm taking notes that'd be great. My computer acts funny when I zoom out a bunch for some reason.
As of right now. Lux has not yet accepted it. So I may have just wasted 50 dollars and gave him a look at everything I own.
Henroid. Check your inbox.
Also, next game, can we have a team one? 5 v 5 or something? XD. I think that'd be pretty badass.
E: also, took two pictures henroid. Just let me know when you plan on writing notes, and I'll pop two off. Do you want the star names with them, or just the star graphics with the empire outlines?

"bitter, beat-a-man-down-at-PAX rivalries"
Yeah, they sound pretty similar.
Just asking for no reason. 8-)
Wheeeeee!
You gotta manually set that up every time.

The fact I forgot to capitalise my name annoys me more than it should.
So I'm playing a race of castrated techno-birds? Huh.
So yeah, good luck everyone!

But yeah, I'm 100% portuguese. Nice to know that, it's quite rare to find portuguese (or even half-portuguese people) in the PA forums.

As for an alliance, WE'LL SEE.
No, there was no buck rogers, unless he went AI immediately.
I ask because you two are still stuck at your original 4 stars.
The game started about 12 hours earlier than would've been ideal for me, so I wasn't able to log on to do anything until last night.
So, to all those people sending me coy messages, sorry for the short delay in answering them.
And, for the record, Joemunkeh, I am not that kind of space-horse-thing. You're definitely going to have to up your price.
... Which, I guess, means I am that kind of space-horse-thing, baby - I'm just an expensive space-horse-thing. Tootles!

Making the fleets ready for war. Mwuhahahaha.
