All I hear is "Wah wah wah I want a fair chance and for things to be even for everyone."
Why you bein' so entitled, Henroid?
In all seriousness, I dig your position, but my big problem with the fixed galaxies is that they look stupid. That, and I'm pretty sure the star resources are still random, so there's no guarantee that it remains "fair".
If you guys get a chance check out this week's Three Moves Ahead podcast - they talk about NP and how it's impossible to walk away from it without feeling like a dick as it requires you to screw over people you've been working with as a team for weeks.

The resources is one thing, I can work with that. But having like 12 stars accessible to me out of the "24 stars per player" thing or whatever is fucking retarded. In order to make it in this game I was going to have to do two researches of range from the start to be able to travel around, and that would've left me at a severe disadvantage. No thanks.

The power of Twitter.
At least folks are enjoying themselves in this game. Imperfect, I'm gonna put $20 down on NP and I'll pay the points for the next one (since I wasted a slot in this game) for all of us to play.

If Imperfect agrees to me paying for the next game, I'll hold a time frame in the future where we discuss the parameters for the game. I don't want to do it now because this current game is ongoing and people are still learning it.
Man the all the alliance movement in-game really shifted the power dynamics.
Also,Ehhhhhh.
I sort of feel like I need to defend myself since it is apparent if you pay attention to the small sector of the galaxy I am in what is occurring , but we aren't already talking about things happening in-game already are we?

We should enact a policy that people who make official alliances in the game are refrained from doing so in the next game.
Well, I forgot about Dre, so I think we're pretty much even here.
And honestly, I formed this alliance largely due to the fact that I was in the middle of the map and surrounded on all sides by some rapidly-scary-becoming duders. (Seriously, Green and Yellow allying up? Got me PaRaNoId.)
Of course, only one player may win, so even our alliance will some day crumble, when most advantagous for one of us to do so...
EDIT: I think that while the game awards you points for second and third place, it should be understood that around the PA tables, second place is the first loser. Seriously, if you are playing for second place, you're not playing right, and frankly you should be scorned more than the last-place dude.
Seriously, Green and Yellow allying up? Got me PaRaNoId.
We allied up more in a "don't attack us" stance, we didn't want to attack anybody in our current state, specially when Henroid's still got loads of planets up for grabs. Hell, we're in the middle of the freaking universe bordering almost every player in the game. This way, we are actually a bit more defendable.
If a planet is set to, say, a Garrison of 1, does that mean that 1 ship will always be unavailable to be pull into a fleet, and that any excess ships in orbit when a fleet passes will be given to said fleet?
The tutorial was suprising sparse on info about it.

Hokai, so this is probably not something I should say if I want to win, per se, but you guys know - if the top three players are allied and it looks like we will eventually pick you all off...
Wouldn't it make sense for the rest of you to ally and provide a unified front against us, instead of waiting for us to pick you all off amidst your infighting?
I would rather lose an exciting game than win a boring one, FYI.
Okay so this game is getting kinda painful to play. I don't whether I'm at a big disadvantage being a GMT player, or since I only log on once or twice a day, but I can't react to anything at all. I kinda thought that the massive space between me and Orange/Purple would allow me to see their ships enroute before they attack or something, but I logged on to find an invasion force already having taken 3-4 of my planets.
I guess it's kinda wierd to be wishing this game was even slower paced.
I did the illustrations for all the aliens (and human) for Neptune's Pride. I had nothing to do with any of the gameplay or else that you guys are enjoying, but Im still rather happy that people like it!

Ah well. At least it's FUN™!! Next one on a symmetric map please. Fixed alliances would be a nice experiment, but I don't mind not having them.

Imperfect (Brown), TheOtherHorseman (Lime) and blurbl (Brown)
vs.
Joemunkeh (dark green) and Lorde Gravewish (yellow)
vs.
Mifio (orange) and Me (a beautiful shade of periwinkle)
and everyone else will be caught in the crossfire.
In case you haven't noticed, the 3 jerks of the first group are the top-3 players in the game. I guess the other 2 groups of jerks are doomed?

I resent being represented as the brown jerk.
I'm the RED jerk. Blurbl is the brown jerk.
And hey, brown jerk, check you in-game freakin' mails.
Nope, I'd come back to fight you but I'm screw anyhow. :P
The other 2 jerk groups should ally up to take out the original 3 jerks.
