    Plus if I went to concerts for any of my favorite rappers, there would be lots of peer pressure to smoke marihuana. We wouldn't want that.

    I have been to a lot of concerts for tiny bands that i have never heard of before. I love where I live for that.

    Surprisingly the best concerts so far have been for jazz bands.

    I missed them the last time they came to Toronto in '06 I believe. I fell just short of the age limit only being 17. I was heartbroken. Now I'm so glad I get the opportunity to see them.

    edit - Googling it to check, I would have been old enough 7 days after the date.

    They're touring with Beach House. If Beach House plays before them, I'll probably just end up bailing after BH's set. Not a big Vampire Weekend guy.

    I flew up to wellington from dunedin (also my first flight, about 600km) to see Meshuggah, my first proper metal concert (had seen maiden before in pussy seated bullshit, not making that mistake again) and then flew back the next day at 5am to go to lectures since it was the first week of classes. That was a fun couple of days.

    To this end, I've seen easily over a thousand bands, and while most weren't good, I think you get a better than average rate of good live performances with pretty much no expectations.

    Okay I got Uppsala, Umea, and Lund, all of which teach in English and Helsinki in Finland which does the same. Actually considering this.
