Just watched TNA. They finally had the ECW people come out, though I didn't expect them to attack Abyss right away. That makes no sense whatsoever. They built it up as them telling Abyss what to do, and turning Abyss into a monster, just to attack him?

There was one person out there I didn't recognize at all. Some semi-large bald black guy, was he staff or what?

And really, your twist at the end is Dixie saying "I invited them"? Sure, that could be a good twist if there was some reason for us to really think she didn't, but nothing was devloped there at all. Also, when your twist is that they were invited there by Dixie, don't zoom in on Al Snow (surprised he was there) looking surprised that the ECW people, WHICH HE IS A PART OF, were invited by Dixie.

Kurn are you talking about D-Lo?

edit: If you watch, he attacked RVD, who was fighting with the ECW guys. I think whatever the fuck Abyss is talking about has nothing to do with the ECW guys unless they lied to him. Guess we'll have to tune in next week on Thunder! I mean.. Impact!

I too was confused by this. I mean maybe Al Snow is supposed to be TNA staff, along with DLo, but you'd think he'd still know if the ECW guys he was fighting alongside were invited by Dixie.

I still can't believe that TNA went with "ECW INVASION".

Jesus christ, that angle is almost as old as the nWo now.

Not really an invasion when you're invited in by the person who "runs" the company. Just sayin.

That was D'Lo? Huh, I didn't know he was in TNA. Actually, I hadn't heard anything about him since his mini-return to WWE.

Although, I will say that TNA broke wrestling tradition with this ECW invasion. They didn't have them show up, beat people up and look like the winners in the end. It was somewhat confusing to me, but I think the TNA people looked like that at least had the upper hand at the end. Although, that is one of those cliches that is still used for a reason. No one gives a damn about an invasion if they don't show some form of dominance in their first appearance.

Wonder if they are going to keep Team 3d out of this because of their current storyline, as well I wonder if they're going to bring in Sandman and Sabu as they seem to have been in all of the other ECW invasion/reincarnation storylines.

D-Lo isn't "in" tna, like Al snow, Pat Kenney, and Terry Taylor they all work in the back. I am curious if they will start being on screen after this.

As for 3d, Devon was helping the ECW guys, just like RVD was. Bubba tried to attack the ECW guys and was shut down quickly.

Personally I hope they don't bring in Sandman and Sabu, unless Sabu is going to accidentally set himself on fire or something.

sorta edit: To clarify D-Lo has been a road agent for like the last year or so I think, I haven't seen him on TV once up until now.

Guess I missed 3d, didn't pay a lot of attention as nexus really has caused me to get bored with this sort of thing. I am surprised that d'lo hasn't been wrestling as he seemed in good shape when he came back to the wwe a year ago or so. Unless they don't want to or they are on bad terms with TNA I do expect sabu and sandman as they just feel like modern icons of ecw.

Any idea of taz's position? Didn't notice if he did anything. Though honestly I would like to see some people that don't tend to get much attention from ecw, as long as that's because they aren't in jail. I know that narrows it down.

Here is how I saw the TNA deal last night. The ECW guys are invited by Dixie to watch the show. They jump the fence because RVD is in trouble and he is their guy. The whole Abyss thing was a swerve, as the ECW guys arent and never have been the "they" he and Joe have referred too. Which I actually think is pretty cool that the obvious thing wasnt the answer. Anyway when the ECW guys start to get into it with TNA crew. the TNA locker room guys spill out. A few of the guys happen to be EX-ECW so they back their friends. It wasnt that complicated, it just got a little rough telling who was swinging at who with so many guys in the ring.

Sometimes I think the tendancy here is to prejudge anything TNA does as bad because so many are big WWE fans. They have had some good stuff going the last month or two after the initial hiring and firing of all of Hogans worthless friends.

I like the idea of ECW as a stable in TNA even if its obvious, I like that they in turn didnt give us the obvious with Abyss. I like that they are pushing Lethal, Styles, Abyss, and other younger homegrown guys, and are being more intelligent in who they take from WWE's cast off pile. I like that they have me legitimately curious who " they" are, I feel like they for the first time have a vision and direction for the company and the booking makes some sense. The in ring action has always been a little better than WWE, it was the booking, production value and commentary that were sorely lacking. At least one of those has improved recently...really two since Taz is on commentary...though he cant really make up for the charisma black hole that is Tenay.

That and the fact that Sting is on unpaid vacation I believe due to beating everyone up and hogan and bischoff saying sting is just doing it for money.

Hawkstone, I don't think people are prejudging that anything TNA is going to do because we're WWE fans. We would prejudge what TNA does is going to suck because statistically it's in our favor to judge that way after the past few years.

TNA has done so much to improve in the past few months. Pushing Lethal AS Lethal against Flair and his group, keeping AJ in or near the main event scene, bringing up more TNA originals to get noticed and taken seriously like redoing Joe back to who he was before, not having very many WWE castoffs compaired to how it used to be. I think I've said it before but it feels like RVD works really well where he is in TNA, same with Jeff Hardy (somewhat, don't like face paint creature of the night Hardy at all), Mr. Anderson because, hell, he's entertaining and no one else gets a crowd chanting "We're all assholes" like him.

I haven't seen any of their newer PPVs, but from what I have seen I still think TNA PPVs are one of their weakest points. WWE is so very good at making a PPV feel like a special event and not just another show, even if it sucks, where with TNA it so often just feels like a more important Impact!.

And yea, I can agree not to have sandman, just surprised he's not there. Outside the ring I like him, inside he is boring. But I honestly really like Sabu. He's crazy, somewhat fast, unpredictable, and really willing to do things that could and most likely should have killed him, and for how much he fucks up I still haven't seen a situation where his botch seriously hurt someone else though I imagine one is out there.

The TLC ladders from back in the day? No chance. The seemingly newer ladders....maybe? Assuming it isn't the ladder that was pre-gagged for Kofi to use as stilts.
