    Ahaha jesus, from ABC News:
Researchers found that eating as little as 2 ounces of processed meat per day -- a few strips of bacon, a hot dog or smoked sausage -- increased the risk of heart disease by 42 percent and the risk of diabetes by 19 percent.

But they're oh so delicious :(

Man I am poor as hell too, and a pack of dogs with a loaf of bread (I'm not so fancy that I buy actual hot dog buns! Pfff you only get like six or so in a pack!) is often an appealing alternative to the loads of egg sandwiches and pasta I eat.

You don't understand how eating, daily, meat that is literally ground up unwanted bits with high amounts of sodium would increase the risk of heart disease?

Those numbers seem big, yeah, but...

If the odds are already very very small, increasing those odds by 50% or what have you isn't quite as extreme as it sounds.

I might be four times more likely to catch illness X because some of my lifestyle habits, and that seems horrible...until you realize that just means I have, statistically, a .0004% chance of coming down with said illness instead of a .0001% chance.

I mean, I'm just talking out of my ass with this hypothetical...but whateva

The data probably just shows that the people they tested who ate bacon happened to have heart disease 42% more of the time than vegans.

That is probably the only question on the questionare.

    Do you eat bacon Y/N
Do you have heart disease Y/N

Heart disease, yeah (last I checked)

I just think that if we tallied up all the stuff we do to increase our risks of certain diseases, we'd probably have trouble sleeping.

There's probably a dozen other things I do/eat/be around in my life that increase my risk of heart disease at a similar level.
