I totally agree Damian is an excellent character, but I don't feel he needs his own title. There are enough Bat-titles as it is right now, and he's getting regular attention in several of those already. Plus, I don't think there's a real point in having a Robin and a Red Robin title at the same time. I suppose they'll just call it DAMIAN or something, though. But why?
I'd be happier just keeping him where he is, at present. Damian is proving to be an excellent character foil for almost anyone you put him in a room with, and by extension manages to make those characters more interesting by forcing them to show different sides of themselves because the arrogant but highly skilled little bastard happens to be the Son of the Batman. By making him the center of a book, that quality disappears and by god they'll have to find something better to replace it with if they want to make that move already.
Damian thrives as the interloper, the scene stealer, the mean little snot that just doesn't give a damn who he'll offend. If we start following him everywhere it'll make things rather boring.
There has never been a need for any Robin solo series.

The premise of Dixon's ongoing, where Tim was kicked out of the cave by Jean Paul, that was a good way to distance himself and warrant a series.

Not really, because even him being on his own and his alienation was still all directly part of Batman's story in Knightfall. It could have been a one shot, but definitely not a 183 issue ongoing.

Tim Drake Robin was a very good book. He spent a LOT of his Robin career operating solo.

Grant specifically wanted him to take over the book, that's very good praise.
and here's the cover to #17:
Gleason gave Damien the Guy Gardner cocky staredown look, love it.

Gleason's only drawn Batman once that I can recall (in GLC Recharge #1, with the Guy Gardner mooning), so the first cover he drew might not be a good barometer. Don't be angry at him, Angry.

He drew that? I read that and he must have really changed his work because it was a lot looser than what he's done on GLC. All I can remember of it is the Patton Oswalt guy (because he wrote it!) picking his nose and being in a locker or something.

Batman #703 was a really good issue. The art is rushed (no inks), but the story was a good one. And Dick and Damien have a real nice big brother/litte brother moment.
It also has a preview of Knight and Squire #1 with a team called Double Entendre. Brilliant!
He really liked the Dixon/McDaniel Nightwing era (who doesn't?), and will try and make Dick have some of that acrobatic stuff while still being burdened with the cowl. And he finds similarities in Guy Gardner and Damien, so expect smirks and facial expressions galore.
And on another note, at the end of Red Robin #16, it said that #17 will be coming out in two months, as the Return of Bruce Wayne one-shot takes it's place next month. Is this the case for the other books like Batgirl or is it just with Red Robin?
I think Richard was pretty careless with the transmitter on Vane's bag.
I think it is going to take Bruce to fix this before too long.
Now that I think about it, though, nothing in the issue made sense. The Getaway Genius was never given a motive, and her decision to rob Wayne benefits makes no sense in light of the fact that her father was given chemo through a Wayne charity.
Furthermore, why did the Getaway Genius tip off Vicki Vale about her crimes in advance?
And why did Dick need a tracker to follow Vale when he could have just followed her after work to see where she went? He also could have just listened in on her phone calls.
The only explanation that satisfies all these questions is that Dick orchestrated the entire thing without telling anyone, hiring the villain and deliberately giving Vale a clue in the process. As for why, I imagine he's going to put her in a position to ruin her credibility by making a claim she can't back up, even if she thinks she has proof.

Vicki got her to rob the first place with the notion that B&R would chase her, giving her that thrill she wants, and then in the second robbery she calls the cops to make sure they know she's coming to get that thrill of the chase again, where it catches up with her. And they probably passed on that info to B&R.
And I didn't see that as a tracker on her camera bag but a recorder. Dick never gets near her bag in the newsroom (unless this was artist error).

Hi. (Caveat: I realized that any blanket hatred of a creator is stupid, so I read as much of Dixon's stuff as I could, and I have to say, there's a lot there to like, but I still find his Robin and Nightwing runs super boring, not bad, just not exciting. And I also disliked how he handled Batman toward the end of his long stint on the Bat-titles.

Yes. The only Bat title coming out next month that's not a Road Home is The Return one shot.
Well, that and Confidential is probably coming out.
And Odyssey.
And Batman: Brave and the Bold is getting a relaunch next month
Oh, and there's probably an issue of Superman/Batman too.
Basically any "current" or "connected" Bat book is on hiatus. Even Azreal.

Why the hell does Robin look like Chucky? Or a Cabbage Patch Doll? Ick
EDIT: He has no nose. I imagine this is what Krillen would have looked like in America.
His nose is right there, it's just turned up. This is not hard to see.

Also I don't know what a Damien is, so off to read up on this ugly warlock.
Also I need to find why Batman keeps hiring kids.
To be fair, that isn't the real Batman.
He adopted Dick and Casandra, and Later Tim too.
