Oh ho ho... I super hyped Brink before it came out. Only to find out that Splash Damage are a bunch of filthy liars, who made an astonishingly horrid game.
@amazongames Amazon Video Games
Hot tip: we've added some new titles to Clearance. How many of you are picking up Strawberry Shortcake for GBA? http://amzn.to/r5toaN
Amazon Games Twitter, you're a little funny sometimes.
The Amazon Games twitter feed comes in handy, but I hate it when they ask some generalized question like, "What are you all doing this weekend?" and then go on a retweet frenzy as my phone proceeds to explode in my pocket.
Mirror's Edge and the Command and Conquer prices are both pretty sweet.

Is Spore and the expansion to Red Alert 3 worth a 5 spot each? Also how's the PC version of Paradise? I already have it on PS3, but I wouldn't mind having a forever copy on PC if it was a good port. Does it look better on PC than on consoles?
Wait.. aww crap, I thought EA stopped pulling this shit!
5. Content and Entitlement Availability
We reserve the right to change and update Content and Entitlements without notice to you. If you have not used your Entitlements or Account for twenty four (24) months or more and your Account has associated Entitlements, your Entitlements will expire and your Account may be cancelled for non-use. Once you have redeemed your Entitlements, that content is not returnable, exchangeable, or refundable for other Entitlements or for cash, or other goods or services.
So basically Origin is like Steam, but they can pull the license on any of your games whenever they feel you haven't played it often enough. If they actually start enforcing this, oh man...

Origin is like Steam except you have a guarantee that they will keep your games on-line for two years instead of being able to remove them immediately.
EA have always had the two year thing in their T&C and to my knowledge they have never dropped anything from anyone's account.
Lets stop with the FUD.
I played Eve online for a little bit a long time ago. There was a clause about being able to delete inactive accounts after 6 months. I haven't touched it in years and the account is still there. They don't delete paying customers stuff because they always want them to return.

Steam immediately removes games for anything other than rule breaking?

There's no clause saying they won't. Let me know when EA actually deletes something.

Their terms and conditions state they can at any time for any reason. Care to suggest why you should be less worried about that than EA saying they'll wait two years?

Because I thought EA was done with this kind of stuff, back when they first started doing DD years ago they enforced a one year availability on digitally purchased titles. Then you'd have to pay for the game again if you wanted to continue being able to download it. They eventually stopped doing it and said they were done with the practice, seeing this just worried me a bit seeing as they actually have set the precedent in the past.
But back to my original questions: "Is Spore and the expansion to Red Alert 3 worth a 5 spot each? Also how's the PC version of Paradise? I already have it on PS3, but I wouldn't mind having a forever copy on PC if it was a good port. Does it look better on PC than on consoles?"

This is kind of a "legacy" thing. Back when eve started, this was the norm. Earth and beyond did it (they literally deleted all your shit if you went inactive for 3-6 months), and several other MMO's did it at the time. Space really isn't an issue, so I believe it was to stop people from selling accounts, and keep the treadmill running.
edit: I guarantee EA has the same "any time for any reason" clause. That is standard legal CYA when providing a service.

The PC port of Burnout Paradise is solid, and looks a bit nicer than the console version. It also doesn't have access to some of the later DLC that was released for consoles, if that matters. I'd also recommend using a 360 controller if you have one.
I guess Impulse has Bullet Storm for 14.99... Now thats a tempting one... The game, she looks so good! Yet... cheap. So cheap
Bulletstorm is worth $15 if you like modern FPS games, and don't mind GFWL. It's short and linear, but a lot of fun, and looks really pretty. I mean, it's from the folks who made the good Painkiller game, so you know to expect lots of shooting and not very much coherence or seriousness.

I'd be interested to see the references for this because so far all I can find is people saying they bought games under that system and that they still have access to them three or four years later.
I'm happy to withdraw my defense of Origin is anyone has a genuine case of widespread misuse of the terms and conditions but so far all I see is people crying the sky is falling.
PS The PC version of Burnout Paradise is very good but the final piece of DLC was never released on the PC which disappointed a lot of people.

Well they may have never enforced it, I don't know, but I remember them specifically stating as well as the outcry over their user agreement.
This page used to have the following line before they switched the wording over to Origin.
Note: Digital download rights remain available for one year after date of purchase.
So my guess, as before is that they made the rule when they started doing DD, saw the blind rage caused by gamers, as it was the only DD service with an actual ticking clock, and then chose never to enforce it, or only did for a short time.
Somehow Dragon Quest IV for the DS dropped in price to $17 at Amazon, and DQ V is $20. V especially has been stupidly expensive for a LONG time, so now's the time to get it.
Why the crap did I ever make my original name "cloudeagle?"
EA Insider deals dont seem too bad because they're posted so early in the day. I usually check CAG once in the morning and again around noon (just out of boredom) and I'll see what time they start. If you get the code right as it starts its never any problem.
PSN: mxmarks - WiiU: mxmarks - twitter: @ MikesPS4 - twitch.tv/mxmarks - "Yes, mxmarks is the King of Queens" - Unbreakable Vow
DQ9 is nothing like any other DQ game, just so you know.
Is that good or bad? Because DQ9's lack of direction is starting to rub me the wrong way...
I'd say that graphically DQ9 isn't like the other DQs, but it plays very, very similarly. But as far as lack of direction... what do you mean? It pretty much tells you where to go next. Though admittedly the plot in DQ tends to be on the weak side.
Why the crap did I ever make my original name "cloudeagle?"
Well, somebody will give you a quest and they will tell you where to go but the quest log doesn't keep track of that info.
Also, I'm assuming the body type you select determines your class? Because I'm a minstrel against my will...
At the beginning of the game the places you have to go are pretty close to each other, plus you have to grind a bit anyway. So just wander around in the general area and you'll find what you're looking for soon enough.
Don't sweat classes just yet. When you get to Alltrades Abbey (and you will, the plot forces you to) you'll be able to change. Though don't knock minstrel; that class has some damn fine abilities on down the line...

Yup, you're correct.
Podcast WHORING: Episodes 2-8 (Thanks Zonghui)
Particularly good deals today from D2D, if you missed these on the steam summer sale.
Amazon Games Twitter, you're a little funny sometimes.
Origin summer sale. Maybe they will be a real real DD competitor.
If they all, except one or two games, werent really old things you could already buy for 5$ from a store I'd feel similarly.
Still, copy of Mirror's Edge probably get. Just to have it~ Thanks.
Edit: Man, EA couldn't make it harder to find their sales and such if they tried.
Wait.. aww crap, I thought EA stopped pulling this shit!

Argh, already over? Boo.
Also, I picked up Dragon Quest IX for like $25 at Gamestop, thats pretty good for a newer game, yes? (it was preowned)
http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Quest-IX-Sentinels-Nintendo-DS/dp/B002I0EH6I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1312900771&sr=8-1
Except for their buy 2, get 1 free deals, the general rule of thumb is that you'll pay MORE at Gamestop. Always.
Side note: DQIX is the first time I've played a DQ game, really digging it so far :^:
DQ9 is nothing like any other DQ game, just so you know.
This brings the cost down to $12 each.
right as i was about to buy too
e: and now their server is down
