Hey everyone,
So the other day I was listening to music and just browsing digg when my sound suddenly stopped. I tried restarting and updating drivers, but nothing changed. I decided to open up my computer and found a large amount of dust, which I cleaned out.
Then when I started back up, the sound was back for about half a song before giving out again. I've tried different speakers and have kept everything up to date, but it's obviously a hardware issue at this point.
My question is how can I tell if it's a motherboard issue or a soundcard problem? It would be pretty shitty to have to replace the motherboard (especially with Starcraft II around the corner) but a soundcard is a bit more affordable.
Any ideas folks?
