I recall the name because I remember it being exceedingly lame that horde had their priest T9 named after such a well known and lore integral character as "guy in comic who was an action figure" :?

most likely that was it, thanks a lot. and you've also give me a site to look through yaaaaaay

    For me it was always:

Skull/Cross/Triangle = First/Second/Third kill targets, although in case of a Warlock Triangle might become the Banish icon.
Square = Trap, and I never thought about it too much. I guess because the ice trap is blue?
Moon = Sheep, because in Fantasia Mickey's hat had stars and moons on it.
Diamond = Sap, because diamonds are forever and Rogues like diamonds.
Star = Shackle, because... Well, I dunno, but something to do with the star the three wise men followed, which leads to religion, which leads to Priests.
Circle = Nubhat for someone who does something incredibly silly during the run. Not removed until the end of the run.

    Very similar to ours.

Ugh, that reminds of back in TBC when my guild had a new tank that transfered from another server where X was the DPS first mark, not Skull. So every pull that night he would Cap'n 'Merica the sapped mob.

Why would X EVER be the first DPS mark?

There's a fucking SKULL in the list. Nothing else makes sense.

Because DBM uses skull for a bunch of things and you don't want it moving your DPS mark around.

Of course DBM uses X for some things too, so it doesn't really make sense for it to be the DPS target either. For a long time our raid marked the primary with circle.

Anyway, back when people on dark iron still CCed things in five mans, the general order was

    skull/X: primary/secondary.
    Star: sheep (occaisionally also moon.)
Square: trap (I too assume it's because it's blue.)
    Circle: rogue/ret paladin
diamond: warlock somethingorother (again, probably because it's purple.)

It's really stupid DBM used those marks as default.

I think it's hard coded per encounter too, and in some encounters it'll use almost all or all marks.

My memory is that DBM uses mostly skull and X, and very occasionally star. I only remember because it was the subject of an entirely-too-long discussion back in BC.

Did they ever add a feature that lets you change which marks it uses? You couldn't back then (or at least, our RL couldn't figure it out.)

I don't think you can even now.

The last rewrite of bigwigs added that feature though. Not sure about other boss mods.

Actually, you can. At the very top of encounter checklists, there's a row of all the marks, and the ones that the encounter uses are lit up. Just click on one to light it up, click again to dim it out.

We use the "pink diamond of shame".

The condom is often fought over by our main tanks.

The noise they make is enough to drive mortal minds mad.

I have yet to meet an elite out in the open world while levelling who did not die to Wolves + Sham Rage.

I really think the account phishers go in alphabetical order.

Most of my characters have names that start with letters later in the alphabet, and rarely get any tells. My lowbie mage gets tells all the goddamn time.
