There was a pretty heavy thunderstorm that knocked the power out for a second or two a few times; and although I managed to get my netbook unplugged in time, when I went to check on my old laptop, it had already turned itself off. After the storm, I rebooted it and found that it could no longer detect a wired LAN connection ("the network cable is unplugged"); and the S-Video-Out port, which is located next to the Ethernet port, doesn't seem to work either. Everything else seems fine; but since the main function of my laptop is to work as a wireless router and play videos on my TV, this is a pretty big deal to me. The video card is independent, but the NIC is on-board. Is there any way to fix this, or will I have to find some other solution, like USB tv-out & Ethernet adapters?
