Anything with Michael Cera in it will probably suck.
Arrested Development being the exception that proves the rule.

An almost fatal mistake that I forgot it, but I ninja edited it in there. Phew.

The total Geek hatred for Michael Cera probably means he's actually a decent actor.
Geeks hate on Shia Labouf too and he's just fine. Not all of his movie choices are the best, but he's not usually the offending party in those movies.
Bet you don't like Super Troopers either you grumpy old man
I am a fan of that movie. The horror spoof they did next was awful, though. Which I was disappointed at, I was hoping I had found a new comedy team I could count on.
Michael Cera can't act. He just plays Michael Cera in every role. When it was Superbad, it was funny because it was the first time anyone had seen him. But after that...."Oh look, he's the same awkward guy in every movie." He's the new Jason Biggs.

At first I was like "who?" then I was like "oh, the pie fucker."
I couldn't stand napoleon dynamite. Horrible movie. I haven't seen tropic thunder, paerents hated it though and my mom and I have the same sense of humor.

I mean, yeah, he often plays an angry guy...and sometimes phones it in...
But you're gonna tell me that his Joker and Jack Torrance are the same guy?
Well he definitely has more range than Cera but you understand what he means right? Like Jack Torrance is "Jack Nicholson if he were a murderous crazy guy" and Joker is "Jack Nicholson if he were a cartoon murderous crazy guy" and Melvin Udall is "Jack Nicholson if he were an OCD crazy guy."
And of course his other roles not having to do with crazy guys but are still Jack Nicholson if he were *blank*.
Like, he always plays himself with the behavior adjusted slightly to fit the role. I assume that's what he's getting at.

I wouldn't know. I've never read Scott Pilgrim. The movie looks fun, though.
we must get him to play
Except a certain tv show back in the day.

I don't get the hatred at all.
if only one of us lived on the west coast
we could coerce him
For shame.

Juno is so bad it makes Superbad look like The Godfather. Part II.
I heard superbad was fuckterrible. Haven't seen it yet though.

Nope.
It's fitfully amusing at best, which made all the OMG FUNNIEST MOVIE EVER! hype before I watched it that much sillier in retrospect.
napoleon dynamite
did you guys see the part where he dances

I swear to God I'll pistol-whip the next person who says "shenanigans".
On the other hand I know about the general-hatred-by-a-wild-variety-of-different-types-of-persons for Michael Cera.
I'll admit I liked the dance scene, mostly for how the school reacts to it, with the crazy loud applause. For me that's what made it funny.
The entire rest of the movie sucks.

Yeah this really brought it down for me
Everyone and their grandmother told me how awesome it was before I saw it, which turned a decently entertaining movie into a disappointment.
You know what movie I saw recently that blew my expectations entirely out of the water?
Tropic Thunder
I did not expect that movie to be that hilarious
It is by far the best comedy I've seen in years
At first I was like "who?" then I was like "oh, the pie fucker."

It was funnier than I thought it was gonna be, but I don't quite rate it that high.

Also especially Robert Downey Jr.
Also, the rest of the film.
is it saint swithen's day already?
What

can't someone else make comedies too
I get the feeling that he's playing an insane and violent person even when he isn't.
:?
Nicholson's "Who needs range when I can play the same character in every movie?" career phase pretty much started with The Joker.
Comedians are too clean. Coke did great things for comedy.
