meanwhile, in the shadows all around, the Spindlers wait -- thin as rails, pitch black, all alike, with blank eyes the size of dinner plates and no faces to speak of, each with the same long, reaching arms and legs, pacing in slow, loping circles around the man's sputtering light
and all he can see are the whites of their eyes, looping madly in the darkness
waiting for the light to fail, for that moment when the cavern can rush in

I still can get fries though, and they have this thing going with a free latte or smoothie coupon on a lot of the drinks, and I've used and stockpiled a good 8 or so from people at work. score.
