Internet font problem

Hey guys - so recently had to buy a new hard drive and reinstall WinXp on my computer. Went through the process, reinstalled my mobo drivers, and the drivers to my video card, Nvidia GeForce8800GT. Now when I got everything set up, went online and noticed my fonts were all jacked up....maybe jacked is not the right word...they just don't seem as sharp as they do on my laptop, which is a much lower end computer.

I don't remember having this issue when I initially set up windows. A little browsing online suggested I remove the smooth edges effect under screen properties - which didn't really seem to do much. Any help would be appreciated - I have a feeling this is a simple fix I'm missing here, but I can't seem to find it.

Aand after some screwing around, turns out it was an easy fix. Settings were all screwy on my monitor and all looks good. Mod can lock or delete or whatever.
