Who's up for a pre-pax meet up at Top Pot doughnuts downtown (2124 5th Avenue Seattle, WA 98121-2511). I'll be there around 6 on Friday, and 7ish on Saturday and Sunday with some friends. Some of the best donuts I have ever had, and a great way to start one of the best weekends of the year.

OMFG I LOVE TOP POT!! I don't see myself getting up that early though :( especially since I'm going to the concerts those days and need to be in line for the wristbands! I know I will be going there one of those days though haha

Donuts YES. 6 am? Possible, but not very likely. At some point before I leave, I do have to make a Krispy Kreme run (Hey, don't look at me like that. I'm a southern boy and I'm genetically programed to miss 'em. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. ) :)

I will be hitting up Top Pot quite often. Probably early each morning before the festivities begin.

Top Pot does not deserve your abuse. No one does! How can your relationship even work if you wake up each morning and then hit Top Pot?

The only reason I'm up at 6AM is either because I'm paid to be (work) or I haven't been to bed yet. That being said I'm happy to check this place out when I actually do get up. I've been looking for a cheap coffee and doughnuts place to supplant my beloved Tim Horton's when I'm abroad. Fuck Starbucks.

    Oh and thanks.

I'm sorry, but there are no other donuts in Seattle that are better than the donuts from the little cart in Pike's Place Market.

The gauntlet has been thrown, my friend.

Family Donut in Northgate. Hands down way better than Top Pot, any relative that comes to visit always wants Family Donut for breakfast.

So, you're going to organize the carpool caravan of out-of-towners to Northgate then? :P CROSS-CITY DONUT TRIP.

I may be down for Top Pot, at least on Friday. Maybe not until 7-8ish. There are a few other coffee places around that also sell Top Pot donuts - Zeitgeist and Bauhaus. Both have excellent coffee that beat the pants off of Starbucks.

I like Timmies for the cheap price, but their doughnuts just aren't that good. Being par-cooked in Ontario and shipped across the country will do that. Ah, I miss the days when Timmies cooked their stuff locally. It wasn't even that long ago.

Unfortunately, this is not true. There are plenty of bad donuts where I am; Krispy Kreme is the only good donut in Savannah, at least. As for Top Pot, Brian & I will be there at least one morning between Thursday and Monday, but I don't know which one(s). Also, crepes at least one morning. Considering how Brian keeps talking about crepes, that will probably be breakfast on Thursday morning.

Its a date.. at 8...thats great! Although top pot is a pretty good nut, I do prefer the PikePlaceMarket doughnuts for taste, and value. I will pay good money for a good nut, but I do think $1.50+ is a bit much for a solo nut. Hand forged or no, those things cost like $.25 to make.

So does Top Pot serve a traditional breakfast, like some meat, eggs, and potatoes? Only reason I ask is because I am staying just a block north of Top Pot and have a half mile walk in the morning, and this is right along my path.
