Hey Guys,
My name is Kedhrin Gonzalez, Creative Director/Lead Designer at IllFonic. We'll be showing up to PAX Prime for our first time to show off our first game title: Nexuiz. Nexuiz is a down-loadable Arena FPS game coming for Xbox 360/PS3 powered by CryEngine 3. We're a small team of about 10 people and have been really busting our ass on this project over the past few months. I'd love it if you guys come checked out our game in the booth hall. We should be setup somewhere in there with 16 kiosks. I can try to answer some questions here if you guys have some. Although I am currently extremely swamped with work... as in, why am I awake at 5am? I'll try to answer em!
Here is some more information about Nexuiz with an interview on Midlife Gamer:

The night before I'm going to be playing some Crysis 2 multiplayer, so I'll be swimming in CryEngine next week.
I wrote an announcement story for Nexuiz a while ago: http://totalplaystation.com/ps3/nexuiz/news/9024/
I absolutely love fast, classic deathmatch action, so I'm pretty sure this will be right up my alley.
Hey there - yep we will have the game playable in its early stages, only about 4 months into development - running on Xbox 360 during the event. There will be 16 Kiosks (2 4v4 setups) showing Capture The Flag and Team Deathmatch with some Dynamic Mutators.
We're estimating a Quarter 1 2011 release date... but we'll see! As we're an indie studio were able to make sure we get the game rocking before we release it.

What are the outlined green things on the ground? Just health pickups?
What kinds of game modes and challenges will you be offering to attract players who think they have learned every FPS game mode inside and out? Or is your game more intended for people who aren't already familiar with FPS games?

the green things on the ground are armor pickups, they'll look better as we get further into development.... we kinda just had to throw what we could in for the PAX build for now. Health auto re-gens in Nexuiz.
On launch we're releasing with TDM and CTF, but heavy use of our Dynamic Mutator system (see interview above) makes playing these modes feel new. Dynamic Mutators probably will not be in our PAX build as we just didn't have enough time. We've only been working on this version in CryEngine 3 for about 3 months now with 10 people. After launch we plan on implementing new game play modes, etc.
Nexuiz's focus is to make it a throwback for gamers who are used to ArenaFPS games, with some new elements. But a big focus we are pushing is all the players who have not been able to experience the ArenaFPS genre, which has been ruled by UT and Q3 since 1999. We want all of these new console players from Halo and CoD to be able to enjoy what we enjoyed. The game will feel new but a good throw back as well.
