Name that goddamn game (horribly obscure edition)

Knowing the legendary power of G&T to work out games based on the flimsiest of descriptions, I have a wee challenge. I work for a company who basically answer any old question from the British public via SMS. They've described a game that I can't place at all. Help me, G&T, you're my only hope:

PC game from 15 years ago. there was a troll like creature that guarded a place you had to go. He was either green or purple. When you spoke to him his reply couldn't be understood because he had his Tongue cut out ( I think the girl said it was cut out by his master because he spoke his masters secrets? Not sure though)

There's a chance he's just mentally ill and confusing it with something completely different. God, I need a new job.

Is that all the info we get?

It sounds like it could be a Sierra-style adventure game. I'm pretty sure it's not KQ 2, 3, 4, or 6, or QfG 4. Also, not Kyrandia 1. I've played all those to completion, and don't remember anything like that.

That sounds like it could be part of I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream, I think

    Is it Torin's Passage?

That had a troll-type creature you had to lure away with a recording of its master's voice.

OOH OOH! I have a game I need discovered too!!

So it was this game that I played way back in like... 1994 I want to say?

Basically it was a game that was a top-down(ish) view, and you controlled a little vehicle and drove around shooting things. The main character (you) was a woman. The most notable thing that I remember from it was the fact that there was a language filter that you could turn on. When the language filter was turned off, the in-game conversations went like this:

    "Who are you?!"
    "Why, your wet dream sugar-tit."

When the language filter was off, it replaced swear words with things like:

    "What the k'roxx roxx?!"

    Anyone have any ideas? :)

Was it Monkey Island that had the troll? It turns out to be just a dude in a suit.

I'm pretty sure you're talking about Traffic Department 2192. I loved that game.

Grave digging this thread to see if anybody can name a game I saw some footage from on YouTube a while ago. The game used an older 3D engine, probably similar to doom and other build engine stuff, with 2D sprites for environment objects. The game appeared to be set in a haunted mansion of some kind. But in the clip I saw, the game suddenly switched to an FMV with live action characters talking and walking around in a rendered still of the environment. I think the protagonist was talking to some ghost that was probably revealing some grave secret or something. But I was really interested in the mix of FMV with an older 3D engine, so I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction to find out more about it!

    Phantasmagoria?

    Maybe The 7th Guest?

I should probably also mention the game was in first-person, like doom. But you saw yourself in the cutscenes.

So Phantasmagoria isn't it because it takes place in 3rd person, and 7th Guest isn't it because it's all pre-rendered 3D.

    Some other possibilities:

Clive Barker's Undying (though I don't think there was FMV).

    Maybe Realms of the Haunting?

From the Let's Play it actually looks interesting.
