The overhead view was a little jarring, but all in all this was pretty great.
I'm a little sad now because I don't even recognize my hometown anymore, it has changed so much.
There used to be a play structure in the backyard that my dad built himself.
It's totally gone now. That was hard to see.
Similar experience here. In our backyard we had this giant above-ground pool that I remember my parents breaking their backs to dig out and construct, as well as put up a deck around it. All gone.
Worse than that though is this boulder that was in our front yard, in the garden. It was painted my late-mother's favorite color, and not seeing it there hit me pretty hard.
also my childhood home is on a court, so i guess google never went there. my street images are all just of the vaguely desolate street that was adjacent to my house.
they painted my house. it used to be white, but now its blue. also, it looks like they destroyed most of the awesome forest and made some kind of farm or field.

Dear satan I wish for this or maybe some of this....oh and I'm a medium or a large.
Still awesome.
they built some kind of overhang thing in the front and it looks like they got rid of the deck and pool in the back
the surrounding neighborhood is dang identical though. They haven't even cleaned up that nasty old empty lot yet.

The place before that I can hardly remember (also it is only like 2 miles away)
So this really had no effect on me, maybe I will try again in like 10 years
I was like "eh" until the street view panning around to view Stafford Courthouse and I recognized everything, well, yeah.
That was something.

That was the last time. You can't go home again.
As a bonus, my dad also grew up in the house, and bought it from his parents when he got back from the Navy.
