I already own everything except for Whispered, Keane and Puzzle Agent, but I don't know anything about them
I think I'm definitely going to get this pack.
I implore people to get it, even if ONLY for that if you haven't had the chance of playing them.
so pass
ed: oh wait, it's season two, not season one. mega never mind
I have them both though.
....And they apparently have horrible englisch voices. Great. WW's is awesome in german
Steam: pazython
Whispered World looks beautiful though and I was already considering Puzzle Agent, which looks well reachable as they're 1/5th of the way to enough sales to unlock it already.
Despite my Sierra loathing I may just have to get this and just never ever install King's Quest.
Dang, I've still not had time to play Sam and Max season three despite pre-ordering it!
I don't know which country you are from but Whispered World and Jack Kane are originally german games (and sound way better in it), King's Quest should be available in nearly every language. I don't know about PAA though.
I'm not sure your chances are high in this package, but I'd send an email to Telltale's customer service who are very nice and helpful people. That or ask on their forum.
Yeah, would think so. Though I can imagine a bad translation could ruin most of this game. It's so beautifully melancholic written in german. Still other parts of the game are also absolutly great so it's still worth a shot I imagine.
I'm not very far in, it is beautiful with decent writing but yeah, the voices are pretty bad. It's a shame that the main character is kind of the worst, he's supposed to be 12 years old but they got some adult guy to do his voice and speak kind of faintly and lispy. It sounds like Adam Sandler doing his kid voice.
Fortunately you have full control over music/sound/voice volumes. I'm going to play with them on just for the full experience because I've heard some of the other voices aren't as bad.
Edit: I should probably get around to playing ToMI sometime. I got the first episode for free when it was talk like a pirate day, but I haven't really been motivated enough to play it.
I actually really enjoyed the first episode of ToMI, but I still need to grab the rest of it.
Switch: 6200-8149-0919 / Wii U: maximumzero / 3DS: 0860-3352-3335 / eBay Shop
Edit: And I just checked the Steam price for Whispered World alone. £ equivalent of just over $30. Charity bundle so very much purchased.
Usually I am quite happy to rely on dubs but if the German version sounds better I figure I might as well use it if I can. (If your wondering why I don't just check myself I can't download right now.)
Anyway that is awesome of them to release Puzzle Agent with less sales than they expected. I wondered if they wouldn't do something like this, they're such an awesome company. I really wanted Puzzle Agent, I love the art style.
Hey look at that, they did.
I think I'm gonna get it now that PA is released for sure.
Sounds kinda lame on my part, I know :P, but that's basically the only game I really want out of that bundle.
(And maybe Whispered Word because that trailer was awesome.)
Whispered World continues to be awesome. I wish I could just mute the main character's voice, the rest all do a pretty great job. It is old school difficult in its design in a few ways - some items are really hard to find because you assume they're part of the artwork and not pick-up-able, or just really ridiculously small. Pixel hunts. And some puzzles have pretty illogical solutions. When you do realize what's they want you to do and how they provided hints to you, it's pretty awesome.
It takes a lot of cues from Monkey Island. There's a Murray-type character, and a voodoo lady-type character, and some other similar puzzle designs. The concept of, you need to perform this task with these steps, but use makeshift objects instead.
I lasted quite a while before I needed to use a guide and when I did it pissed me off; there's a stick on the ground in one screen that is about 20 pixels tall. But I've been enjoying it quite a bit despite its flaws.
Did they pitch this at a bad time when the news channels are flooded with PAX announcements or do people just not go for adventure games these days?
Bearing in mind their game is in the bundle you'd think the PA news post could throw them a quick link.
About the pixel hunting: hold down space and the game highlights all hotspots on the screen.
I played through The Whispered World a few weeks ago and I really enjoyed it. Utterly beautiful and fun throughout. It's definately old school in design though, and I think some people who are unfamiliar with the weird logic that runs through adventure games might find it quite difficult. The main character's voice is pretty crap through. You kind of get used to him though. Kind of. I wonder who thought it would be a good idea to have that voice for him? Most of the other characters are quite well voiced and some, like the main bad guy, are really good. It just seems like such a strange decision to have this whiny annoying voice for the character that you will listen to the most through the game.
Honestly, I think having the two games locked kinda backfired - it's supposed to be an incentive, but based on other forums I've been to that are talking about the bundle, I think a lot of potential buyers are fence-sitting and waiting to see if the sales goal is going to be reached and everything is unlocked before purchasing (which, ironically, is resulting in the goal not being met). I think people would have bought more if they would have just had all 6 opened immediately.
Well, they tried to adapt the german voice's charachteristics. It just ended horribly.
Tried opening the installer themselves? Had to hunt mine to C:\Users\<username>\My Documents\Telltale Games\Adventure Bundle\ and right click>Run as administrator (this is in Windows 7. Apparently also works for Vista users.)
Sale ends Monday.
