Hey. You might not recognize me because I usually just lurk here, but after i took the plunge and posted a picture in that lurker thread, I thought why not take a further plunge and just make a whole thread? Worst comes to worst I'll be run out of town with pitchforks and resume my life as a semi-professional lurker. So yeah, one of these pictures has been seen in the lurker thread before :O
Ordered newest to oldest:
and here a couple of line scribblies, while I'm here (instead of putting them in the doodle thread)
Hope this was enough to warrant a new topic, though I was sure I had seen others with as many or fewer pictures in the past.
Watch your tangents and cropping. Boba Fett's blaster shouldn't have a tangent with the top edge of the piece. And I would say his ankle is cropped at an awkward point. Also, some of these are a bit large for Web viewing. I'm very impressed with your rendering skills in places, but in other places in the same piece details will be soft and blurry. You can use that for focal points within pieces, but it needs to be used consistently. For example, BSG girl's eye is sharply rendered and very detailed, but her arm is very soft. It looks unfinished.
Thanks a lot NibCrom! I'll definitely take better care to resize my images in the future (these are actually resized, but are obviously still too big anyway :P) And yeah, I still haven't mastered the "blur one area to focus on another" trick, just clumsily fumbling around with it. I really appreciate the advice!
So far this has been less terrifying/mortifying then expected...
Good work so far. I like your digital paints, but im thinking that it may look better if you tried a bit more of a defined, painterly look (kinda like oil paints). At the moment its a little soft, which isnt a problem, but it looks like you're trying to go super realistic, but just arent quite there enough.
Line drawings are good. just watch the outlines, a little messy. God i suck at line work. its freaking hard!

Just wanted to say that google chrome gives me security warnings about the place you upload your pics (or sig). Does anyone else get that warning when opening this page?

@winter_combat_knight: Thanks, and yes clarity has been a problem I struggle to overcome in my work, thanks for all the advice!
@The_Glad_Hatter + Cannon Goose:
I just loaded it up in chrome, and I get it too, I can honestly say I've never had that happen before! (I switch between chrome and firefox pretty regularly) The site I use is actually my own personal site, so I'm like 99% sure that it's fine. I'll have to go check and see what the hell is going on with it.
EDIT: Alright, re-uploading seems to have fixed the problem. I also went ahead and resized them while I was at it.
