So my girlfriend's laptop was stolen out of her house while she was sleeping (scary!). She doesn't have any lo-jack software or anything similar on it, but today I've seen her skype account and google talk account log in and be online. All important passwords have been changed, and police have been contacted. I know it'd be impossible to trace the location via skype or gchat without a subpoena from the police to them, but should I try talking to whoever stole it at all? I could do just text chat or try video/voice call with skype.
