When you think of truly inspiring speakers, who pops into your head?
So we get stiff once in a while. So we have a little fun. What’s wrong with that? This is a free country, isn’t it? I can take my panda any place I want to. And if I wanna buy it a drink, that’s my business.
This thread makes me realize I've never been really inspired by a speech. I can see how a lot of speeches are meant to be inspiring but nothing has really rattled my bones. This short vid comes close. I wanted to grab my powder horn and fight the South after hearing it.
Is this a serious thread, if so MLK comes to mind as the most recent. Nobody in our generation or since then has really had anything worth saying or done it worth a damn.
My favorite part of the OP is that the guy has to refer to his notes not only halfway through every sentence but when recalling what he went to school for.

Whether they find a life there or not, I think Jupiter should be called an enemy planet.
edit: just saw a bit of the OP video. Did he say he lived in a village? How small does your place of residence gotta be to classified as a village?
It might be an Ohio thing, but iirc "village" signifies a couple things about how the town is run w.r.t. mayor, council, zoning etc.
For example, I grew up in a village, that was part of a city of the same name, which was itself part of a "township" of the same name. The village was mostly a "historic district" in one part of town.
The local politics are, of course, hilariously corrupt in that way only a small town/city/village/historic district can be.

I can't find a video of his UCS speech anywhere, though.
Why does he sound like he's choking back tears when he's talking about what he went to college for
