compositing in after effect for stop motion

Hello everybody,

I am making a stopmotion animation and need some help and advice for compositing.

I am using after effect cs4 for compositing but when I import my image sequence it seems like some frames are missing, though the original image files look fine, it is something with the affter effect, do you know how to fix this?

also about rendering I feel a little bit confused; I understand that stop motion animation is normally 12 f/s . so when I create a composition in after effect should I set my comp frame rate to 12 f/s or I can have the compositing frame rate in 24 f/s and just render the composition in 12f/s ?

thanx
( dont forget about the magic of baba)
