Crashing @ Cthulhu-esque boss

So yeah... Everytime I knock the Cthulhu-esque mime God boss down to about 28000 health, windows error pops up and the game crashes. I'm using the Steam version so I'm assuming it'd be up to date patches wise... anyone know a fix?
