So I am trying to clean up a web page that some friends and I have on Google sites, and I can't seem to find a way to hide the links, and it makes the page seem like amateur hour.
But the code that works on PA does not work on Google group apparently. I did some looking around and tried a few other codes, but nothing hide the link. Anyone have any experience with this?

Apparently Google sites does not use HTML coding, because when I use the HTML, all I get is the the whole HTML spelled out, it does not "hide" the link and show the text that I want.
Anyone know what coding that Google sites use?

Are you using the Google sites editor to edit it? 'cause with that you insert the links from the menu.
A lot of HTML editors have you type and use buttons for creating HTML code in the application but you aren't inputting HTML code directly. I know Google's Blogger site let's you switch to manual where you are, but maybe not what you're using. Anyways, the post above seems to be the correct solution.

edit: on a more useful note this is a fairly good explanation of html linking.

Here is what it looks like.
The sword.
Sword simulators come in two main varieties: wasters and blunts.
A waster is made of wood or Nylon, and blunts are made of steel. We highly recommend the Hanwei federschwert for drilling and sparring at firsthttp://www.kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=SH2333&name=Hanwei+Federschwert+Practice+Sword
http://web.emerytelcom.net/users/blhunt/longsword.htm. Wasters are also good for pel work.
Another decent waster is the Rawling Nylon: http://www.woodenswords.com/WMA/RedDragon.htm. It is rather light, and whippy though.
Fencing Mask
We recomment Absolute Fencing's fencing mask: http://www.absolutefencinggear.com/shopping/product_info.php/cPath/23_90/products_id/751?osCsid=596c9802d72f4c3ae2bfaecddf378fa5
