That is sweet Smof but I actually hate tarantulas, they are too big for me to be comfortable with even though they are pretty much harmless, and I like anoles.

It was on my back porch, and it was a cool looking spider, so I put it in a honey bear. I didn't realize it was a black widow until about a day later. The hourglass wasn't there, just three red dots in a perfect line.

The tarantulas at my parent's place are pretty friendly. About as friendly as can be expected, anyway. Crawl around on your hand without a care.

I mostly get Huntsman and Jumping spiders in my room nowadays. The huntsmans are odd but I tolerate them, jumping spiders are always welcome for as long as they care to stay.

I leave the jumping spiders here alone because they'll take out most of the annoying insects, then scurry off under something.

These are the ones i mentioned we have:

    220px-Araneus_diadematus_aka.jpg

There are literally 1-4 of them building webs in close proximity in every available place, and I keep walking into them.

Yesterday I was jogging and I ran into one and before I could react I ran through 3 more, web all over my face and maybe spiders.

The giant murderous spiders in diablo II were the least aggresive monsters in the game. They wouldn't even come at you most of the time.

    I rest my case.

oh yeah also it is 10 inches long leg to leg, highly aggressive, hisses, and as its name suggests

    it wanders!

like into your sneakers or bed or car trunk or shady places that you might store things to retrieve later with your soft, biteable hands

    Good news everyone!
Thought to be the first fly driven to extinction by humans, it was also considered one of Europe's few endemic animals to have disappeared for good.

The bizarre fly was considered 'mythical' due to its orange head, its preference for living on dead animal carcasses, and the fact it was rarely sighted even in the 19th Century.

The discovery of the fly living in Spain is "sensational", say scientists.
It preferred to live in the cool season, whereas most flies like warmer temperatures.

It lived on the carcasses of dead animals that are in the advanced stages of decay, whereas most carrion flies prefer less rotten flesh.

The fly was also said to have had an orange head that would glow in the dark, with some 19th Century scientists writing about how it could be found at night due to its luminous shine.

And 50 years after being described, the fly suddenly disappeared, supposedly for good, with the last sighting in 1849.

Many aspects of its biology remained unknown, but the fly's niche lifestyle was thought to have contributed to its extinction, as some experts speculated that it had a preference for crushed bones, in which it would lay eggs that turned into maggots.

    Hello.

I suffer from arachnophobia, as probably every other poster in this thread. This is mostly because of the barn funnel weaver, which terrorized my basement and childhood. According to that Wikipedia entry, the males retreat into houses during the fall and wander around, generally scaring the hell out of me.

I'd rather live around brazillian wandering spiders than botflies. Being around any of the asshole fly species in general isn't something I'd relish.

Like those ones farmers in Iraq were complaining about that laid eggs in open wounds so the maggots could chew their way around.
