PAX East Registration is happening RIGHT NOW!

Bought two tickets. It doesn't matter whose name is on them, correct? I put my brother's name, but if he can't come I'll try to bring a friend, so it doesn't matter whose name is on the ticket?
I got a fever for the PAX... and the only cure, is more PAX!
[Coincidentally, last year at PAX Prime I got a fever from the PAX... but that was H1N(erd)1 which they tell me is different.]

Correct, it does not matter whose names are on the tickets.
If I pre-register and it turns out I can't go, can I cancel it and not be charged? Or would I have to try to sell it to someone else?
Contact support on the registration page and they'll tell you whether you can cancel, otherwise you'd have to sell it.

This show will sell out, and people will be scrambling for your ticket. It's an incredibly safe purchase.
If you want to make sure you're giving it to someone who will enjoy it if you can't, there will be a thread up to sell tickets at face value before the show starts. Otherwise you can sell it somewhere else for more.
I really want to go to PAX, but I'm not sure how I'm getting there yet, or what hotel I'm staying in, or how I'm paying for those two things. Should I just buy my ticket anyway, and save my money during the period of time between now and then?

I'd say yes. I'm not sure I'm going to have the cash to go either, but if I do I don't want to be left without a ticket.
And like I said, tickets resell really, really easily.

Yes. The hardest thing to get is your ticket. It sells out. And then you will be sad. And sadness is sad.

You raise a good point. Bought my 3-day pass. And I've never been to a PAX event, what happens if I'm selected for the Omegathon exactly? o.0
I'm thinking of taking the plunge all the way from England and flying over by myself. I'm sure i'll see loads of folks i know..
But, can anyone give any rough estimate on how much hotels are per night from at the con rates? I'm trying to figure out how much it'll cost in total and need to be able to hit the buy button if we get low-numbers warnings!

I'd say around $200/night for a 4-person is a conservative estimate.

If you're selected, you get to be one of twenty lucky bast^H^H^H^Hpeople to compete for...well, last year's East Omegathon prize was an all-expense paid trip to the Tokyo Game Expo, not sure what this year's prize is. Challenges typically go: tabletop, PC, rhythm, console, secret. "Secret" being revealed mere moments before the final two (or in last year's case, four) players compete on the main stage at the close of PAX.
Thanks - I'm travelling just by myself, so will be just me.
There is a hotel "Club Quarters" thats 20 minute walk around for $750ish for 5 nights (Wednesday - Sunday) - That seems like a pretty good deal.. Do you think its worth booking now, or waiting for the hotel system to come online?

Thanks, Moe!
A list of things, should you be of the gifting persuasion

Pascual, don't post in this thread until you've bought your ticket. You bring shame on the House of UK.
Oh look at me! my name is MelesMeles and I have lots of money!
Fixed that for ya :P
Well, hope stuff clears up and I see you there!
UK PAXer with ticket purchased here!
Now I just need to sort time off. And flights. And a hotel. And other minor details like that :-/
Common sense, practicality, that sort of thing?
In my defence, I'm fairly certain I can get time off, and the money for flights & hotel I've earmarked already.
Don't know who the extra badge is going to but I guess I'll figure that out.

After like 2 years of planning, I can finally go to Pax. I'm so pumped, guys. SO PUMPED!
